#Titans TE MyCole Pruitt: 1 year, $2.5 million ($2.35M fully guaranteed)

unbelievable.

Too much???

2.35 guaranteed for 14 GS 27 REC 1 TD ... over 5 seasons.

2019 10 REC
2018 9 REC
2017 0 REC
2016 4 REC
2015 10 REC

And we remember him as a good blocking tight end NOT.

PFF ranks him quite high in pass blocking in 2018 and 2019.

Interesting. He has developed. He didn't do much blocking in college, I recall. I do believe my memory is good that he didn't block especially well for us as a rookie.

How many rookie TEs are decent blockers? Especially given limited snaps?

He blocked on a passing play a total of 14 snaps for us as a rookie. He blocked on a running play 80 times. I originally was making this post to show how little he played. Now, looking at it, I'm starting to think we were telegraphing our intentions with him.

More evidence that Rudy is not overpaid. Good luck to MyCole.

Or Sharpe's $645K guaranteed.

A steal.

Tom is Sharpe a close personal friend of yours? You seem to be pretty irritated with me talking a little trash about him. I've already said it wasn't a terrible signing.

It's a one-year, $1 million deal of which $675,000 is guaranteed, including a $175K signing bonus. Max $1.5M with incentive. Solid deal for Tajae Sharpe in a tough WR marketplace and low-risk addition for the #Vikings. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1242835418963468296

It could be worse, but I hate all the guaranteed money. what if he is beaten out by our two or possibly 3 WR draft picks along with Thielen, Bisi and whoever. We would then be paying him for nothing.

"all" the guaranteed money? Except for Thielen he is vastly more experienced than our little collection of misfits.

That just tells you somebody else offered him something ... or we've had a crush on him since he abused us three years ago. The non-gaurantee worthy guys are available 24 hours, 12 months out of the year.

I don't think much of Sharpe. I could easily see three WR draft picks beating him out along with Thielen, Bisi and one of our current stable of sucky WRs. How many WRs are we likely to carry? Hopefully we still draft at least 2 WRs that would be better than Sharpe.

Is he better than Mitchell? [&:]

675k isn't much guaranteed. I like the signing - had a solid rookie season. Injury then didn't do much, but I like having someone with experience ie Jarius Wright. Titans make us look like a pass happy offense.

EDIT: Someone already beat me to the Mitchell comment.

I still like Mitchell better. I know what I saw on tape and unless he has lost those skills he is the second best WR on the team.

hollins and davis made it off the practice squad a few times last year - i don't believe mitchell ever did...why do you think mitchell is the best of the group?....

i think that hollins makes a breakout move this season....

davis had great success in punt returning in college - i wonder why we haven't used him in this capacity....

I'm not going to believe Mitchell isn't the best of our scrub WRs until he is given a chance and shows he doesn't have what it takes. Maybe the Diggs trade will open up the possibility, but probably not. I think he got in the dog house and was never given a fair opportunity. I could certainly be wrong.

With the contract terms, I like the deal. Initially thought he might be signing for Perriman money, which had me on the verge of a cerebral vascular accident.

So now you're more on the verge of a venereal vascular accident.

Always on the low road. I think he was talking about a 'smart' vascular accident.

Not really the low road, more like the mezzanine.

#Vikings have expressed interest in CB Darryl Roberts, cut by Jets last Saturday. But they haven't made an offer and other teams might be higher on his potential list. Roberts, a four-year veteran, had a career-high 11 tackles vs Vikings in 2018, 2 for loss, and 2 passes defended.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Free Agency 2020 (3/27/2020 7:19:10 AM)

More info on Roberts. He has experience. That is not always a good thing. I mean, he has experience of doing things at a lower level.

On the positive side, he is a six footer who can run fast. He did a 4.36 40 at his combine.

Bill Jandro -> RE: Free Agency 2020 (3/27/2020 7:34:27 AM)

There doesn't seem to be much interest in teams giving up a mid pick for Ant Harris.

I wonder if we simply keep him. If we release him and he can't find a team with enough cap to give him a big long term contract it could devalue the comp pick we get back besides being a pretty shitty thing to do on our part.

Everybody is holding out for a great deal right now. Teams aren't biting just yet.

Abdullah is OK as #3 or 4 RB with Return Capabilities. Unless we draft somebody to replace him.

There’s really only a small chance of that happening.
