ORIGINAL: Bill Jandro This season is starting to feel like a waste of time. With over 2500 players in camps the likely hood of an outbreak is almost certain. With young incredibly well conditioned athletes so what if there's an outbreak. Just keep them away from those more susceptible to consequences. Has one legit professional athlete died from this or even had severe repercussions? What if one did die. People die. It's part of life. I could die driving to the grocery store. My opinion is we take reasonable precautions and move forward with our lives. I'm willing to take the chance to eat at a restaurant once in a while. I take reasonable precautions. I think it is a very good thing that professional sports are starting up again. It's fine with you if a player dies just so you can get your fix? Just part of life? Shitt like this is why people get so fukking sick of your constant bleating on this platform. Oh, did the rookies all sign eventually? Did you stop crying at that point, or did you just move on to something else to try to divert attention your way? Bohumm people do die. It does happen. I'm just stating a fact. If one professional athlete dies somewhere in the entire world of professional athletes it's not a good thing, but it's part of life. Is it 8 billion people living on this planet now? So far as I'm aware not one legit professional athlete has died from COVID or even gotten particularly sick. That's out of all the legit professional athletes in the world. They are incredibly low risk. It's certainly possible somebody has, but I'm not aware of it. The high risk athletes like Michael Pierce should opt out IMO. I'm guessing you saw my statement on that, but it didn't fit your wanting to bitch about what I posted. Reasonable Precautions! There is a balance between living our lives in a bunker and going forward with our lives. It's not about me getting a fix. It's about us moving on with our lives. I'm 61 with diabetes so I'm kind of high risk, but I'm not going to live my life hunkered down in fear. If you want to go ahead. Maybe you hope I catch it and die. If I do it's not going to make much difference in this world. You won't have to see my bleating posts so it will be a positive for you. I'm all for moving forward taking reasonable precautions which is exactly what I said above. You are just hateful and spiteful toward me as if I have ever done anything to you. I haven't. As for the draft pick signings I personally thought it was kind of interesting. Once they got signed I said good and moved on. IMO it is a very good thing that pro sports are starting up again. Easy to see why we can't get the virus under any semblance of control in this country.....Carry on Logic Boy!!!!!! I've taken reasonable precautions. I haven't got it. Looks like I have the virus under control in my own life. I might be taking a lot more precautions than you Bohumm. I shop with my mask on about once every two weeks, I go out to a restaurant that is following all recommended precautions about once every two weeks. When my nephew came to Arizona from Minnesota I got together with brothers and other nephews to see him. I'm IMO being safe in my choices. In this entire world there is one person that I actually know and care about who got very sick with this virus. That's our very own Bruce. I didn't have any control over him getting the disease. When I found out about that I took action praying for him, getting my church praying for him, getting my friends praying for him, and getting another message board praying for him. He pulled through. Wow. "Due to my superior personal control, it hasn't impacted my life. As long as I get to watch football, I don't give a fukk about what happens to NFLers . Or their families. Or the people who work at their grocery stores. Or their doctors, nurses, RTs, etc. I'll just pray for them if they get sick....." And the bolded shows you are not taking more precautions than me. If you want to hold forth about the virus, at least educate yourself. It takes a lot more than prayer if someone takes a bad turn, and though we know some have elevated risk factors, it's not always known who they are because we don't truly understand this virus. It may be more cardiovascular than anything else, and it may damage organs (minor ones like the lungs and heart, praise God!!!) long-term or even permanently. And yes, young, healthy people have gotten very sick and died. Strength and speed are moot when it comes to fighting off a virus. I hope you don't call yourself pro-life...... So you would not meet your nephew who traveled 2000 miles to see you. That's your choice. I'm not going to go that far. I will take that risk exercising reasonable precautions. It's mine to take. Do you shop? If so you're taking a risk. Do you have family members in your home? You should all get your individual places to live, don't stay in the same house. Have you beeIn to medical facility since the outbreak? You're taking a risk. So far our government hasn't seen fit to impose a no football, basketball, baseball, golf, hockey, NASCAR ban. I take it if you were in charge you would impose those bans because of your great love for humanity. I'm glad you're not in charge. I'm not traveling during this pandemic and it's only my wife and me in our house so far. I'm serious about this; we're in a deadly pandemic. If I were in charge, I wouldn't do these sports right now, though the NBA has a chance to work. I would shut down with a mandated mask and social distancing requirement for the next 6-8 weeks to stop most transmission and institute the defense production act for test kit elements and PPE (gowns, masks, etc.). I would activate a program for testing and transmission tracing throughout the country. Read Andy Slavitt (Minnnesotan, BTW) among others about the rationale for all of this. We blew it in the spring, and we'll probably have to do it sometime.
