Its amazing how little they gave up. Green and Brooks were likely guys they wanted to get off of their contracts. Green just isn't good and Brooks is too much of a knucklehead for what he provides. So they basically gave up the #10 in a mediocre draft and they kept all the youth they really wanted. Suns still don't have a Center of Point Guard.

I probably don’t dislike him as much as most non-OKC fans. His style isn’t aesthetically pleasing but he’s hardly the first superstar to hunt cheap foul calls. He’s good, when he’s on he can be unstoppable at times. Top 15-ish player But not an MVP.

Dynasties are going to be very difficult under the new CBA. quote: OKC has this year's window and then they will have to let go of one star player like Chet or 2-3 key players like Dort/Hartestine/Caruso. Williams will get the super max (starting around $45M), and assumw Chet gets the discounted max (starting around $40M) next year (unless he makes an All-Defense team, then change it to 45M). I don’t think any of them will offer a discount after their leader just signed the highest super max in history so far. OKC will have $245M (not including Deing QO hold) assigned to 12-13 players next year. And that’s even before SGA's super-duper max kicks in the following year (starting at $63M). They’re lucky that SGA is under paid this year and next at $38 & $40M. The 2nd Apron will be around $217M next year. I think OKC will trade Chet for picks and a low salary player and keep the team depth. That’s probably why they drafted Sorber, to replace Chet.

Memphis already took this path, dealing Bane (to many people's surprise), because they felt they couldn't field a competitive team with 3 max players in JJJ, Morant and Bane.

I like the Ayton signing. It's not going to propel the Lakers to the top of the league, but he has some game. I think Lebron's presence will motivate him a bit. Luka has reportedly lost weight... that could be Lebron's influence or a reality check from basically being shown the door in Dallas. Some guys though will just be who they are regardless.
