David Levine -> RE: NBA Talk 2020 (4/13/2021 10:49:45 AM)

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee and will be out indefinitely, the team announced Tuesday.

Murray suffered what appeared to be a noncontact injury during the Nuggets' 116-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday night. He crumpled to the ground in pain, clutching his left knee and pounding the court with his hand after trying to split two Warriors defenders on a drive with 50.6 seconds remaining and the Nuggets trailing 111-104.

That's really too bad. He was a joy to watch in the bubble last season.

He's a legit star but willing to defer to Jokic for the good of the team. Can absolutely take over a game if he needs to. Great team player.

Denver has quality depth. Don't be surprised that people will learn who Facundo Campazzo is.

Jamal Murray is a good player who got hot for the playoffs last year. The Nuggets have great depth and he will barely be missed.

Lakers look like the favorite to me to win it all.

Matt Lang -> RE: NBA Talk 2020 (5/18/2021 2:20:03 PM)

Anybody but the Nets!

It would really suck if the Nets win it all.

Griz eliminate GS in final play in game. Ja Morant is fun to watch.

They were talking how GS would be whole again with Clay back next year. But they look a lot farther away than that to me.

Curry decided to be the distributor late in part because of the D. But the shooters, primarily Wiggins, were crap. Poole with some late mistakes. So it went to overtime.

They are getting the 30+ year old version of Klay. They might be able to sort out a few things, but agree that whole again is a big leap.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: NBA Talk 2020 (5/22/2021 12:06:22 PM)

The Nets Big 3 are back. It's almost like trying to defend an All-Star team.

NBA really not doing itself any favors with the LBJ covid protocol situation.

Ratings already down and now the double standard of letting LBJ play. Going to be interesting.

Pretty sure they’ll find a loophole/ Vaccination card to clear the way.

He is the acting commissioner/ King.....

Buck's barely beat heat in OT on an off shooting night for Butler.

Giannes is a bad foul shooter. he was an absolute liability out there in crunch time.

If Dallas were to get Doncic some help they'd be unstoppable.

Who is currently their 2nd best player? Porzingis(who was invisible last night).

Steve Lentz -> RE: NBA Talk 2020 (5/29/2021 4:30:29 PM)

My guess is Jimmy Butler is done at Miami.

Doncic is the real deal. He does need more help though.

I know it's not fair and likely my opinion is based on distant over romanticized memories of Jordan but I swear if Jordan had Lebrons body he would just drive to the hoop every single time down the court and will his team to victory.

Lots of sports radio chatter from insiders and experts that say Davis isn't exactly a workout warrior and that is a big reason he is hurt all the time.

Davis isn't a #1 IMO and the Lakers will need to find a couple more pieces after Lebron retires or they will be a dumpster fire instantly post Lebron.

Reports are Coach K at Duke announced his retirement after next season. Brad Stevens could slide right into that.

Could be.

But if he's burned out on coaching, the Celtics front office job is not a bad gig.

Sounds like Duke has already signaled assistant Jon Scheyer will get the gig.

How does a 44 year old man get burned out on coaching?

David Levine -> RE: NBA Talk 2020 (6/3/2021 10:53:55 AM)

Rob Perez:
In what might be one of the more absurd statistical individual playoff performances in a while, Luka Doncic just scored or assisted 31 of Dallas' 37 total field goals made in a 105-100 win.

2 or 3 years he will be coaching again IMO. Some school like Kansas or Kentucky (that recruits itself and requires less work than a school like Iowa, for example) will pay him $10 million a year.

That's simply amazing. he may well be the best player in the game right now.
