Gleaned from an article on yahoo sports…

). Minnesota's defense has given up the most receiving yards per game to wide receivers and the sixth-most deep completions this season.

Just another reason on the list of reasons to fire fn Zimmer, at 00:00 on Sunday

If the Broncos part ways with Vic Fangio because the organization failed to give him a legitimate QB he'll get scooped up as a DC yesterday

So the rumor is that Zimmer is gone and Speilman is staying.

If he has to stay, give Speilman President of Operations job and let him hire GM. GM would need to have total control of hiring coach, draft, FA and all other player decisions.

So Spielman's in charge of??? Cheerleaders?

Good takes from Mackey and Judd.

I have a real hard time with a lot of reply sections whether it's Twitter or a Strib article. I picked up a deal on an online subscription from the Strib for the football season but let it go recently

This popped up in my youtube feed today and I'll share it because the guy really struck a chord with me.

117 points against in the final two minutes of halves this season. Has to be 30-40 points more than any other team in the league this season. You can't win consistently with those kinds of numbers. There were at least three or four games where a team scored twice in the final two minutes of one half.

Hmmm, I wonder what Kirk's record would be if we were just a middle of the pack defense?

He’d probably get too much praise, just like he gets too much criticism now.

Nothing’s impossible … the right situation, the right bounces … I could see him being successfull in the right program.

He is what he is, a gigantic clump of seaweed with a very good arm sticking out.

zimmer would find another way to lose...he screwed up the offense, and now the defense...could never manage the clock...plays scared - not to lose - turtles up...loose wide open prevent zone three-man rush...insult your rookies, and throw your players under the bus - don't develop anyone...any mojo that zimmer had has been long gone for at least a couple of years....

ambear -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/9/2022 10:13:34 AM)

I think Zim lost any edge years ago. Not sure why he signed an extension. Money I guess. Looks completely disinterested.

My favorite description of Cousins.

Cousins, the one man in the NFL that is incapable of receiving an objective description - especially from the "fans" of the team he's playing on ....

Ricky J -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/9/2022 10:39:55 AM)

For example, the people on this site couldn't even give him a fair moment when considering what it would be like if we didn't have the worst defense in the NFL - especially at the end of the 2nd and 4th quarters, which you were more than happy to discuss in of its ownself yesterday without bringing up Cousins and the what ifs

My favorite description of Cousins.

Cousins was not this team's biggest issue this year, it was our HC's conservative philosophy, imo but he is part of the bigger problem/puzzle of winning a Super Bowl, which is all I care about.

I hope our GM doesn't take a band aid approach and go all in 2022. If I were the Wilf's I'd look to 2023 and beyond.

New GM, hires HC and trades QB. I'm more concerned with upgrading the TEAM, even if if means a STATISTICAL downgrade at QB. I'm thinking we go for our franchise QB in 2023, as this years draft class isn't strong?

Clean slate, contend for division in 2022 and Super Bowl runs after, in a perfect world.

Team defense (ranked by points against) since Cousins became a starter in 2015:

WASH #17
WASH #19
WASH #28
MN #9
MN #5
MN #29
MN #28 (before Bears game)

This year was the band aid approach year. The defense needs a complete overhaul. A new GM (along with a new coach) will understand that. Next year has to be a rebuilding year, so keeping Cousins one more year seems likely (as he won't be extended, and his contract will no longer affect the salary cap in 2023).

What a disappointment Pierce has been.

This is why Zimmer is 3-0 in meaningless games ( season-enders after elimination).

What good can come from his stupidity? ACL or achilles injured on a star player?
