The smart move is to trade Cousins and other high priced vets, finish the year 4-13, get a high draft pick and rebuild. Kwesi is a smart guy. I think this is the path they take. The other option is to extend Cousins, but I don't think they have the talent to win. The worst option is to let Cousins play out his final season. Team finishes 8-9 again. What will that accomplish? They will just get a worse QB in the 2023 draft. If they are going to extend Cousins you do what you can to bring in as much talent as you can. If you trade Cousins you have to get rid of Smith and Thielen and Kendricks and every other 30-year-old player.

Imo the worst option is the extension or any scenario that keeps Cousins here longer. We will never win a Super Bowl with Kirk Cousins.
