This is kicking the can. Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein One source said the dead money cap hit for the end of Aaron Rodgers’ contract as it stands now is around $75M. That’s when the #Packers go into rebuild mode.

Per ESPN: Cousins, 33, has worked the NFL's labor rules to his advantage better than any player in league history. .... He has now signed three fully guaranteed contracts with the Vikings, and his $158.9 million in earnings between 2016 and 2021 are the most by any player in the NFL over that period.

As usual, hand picked stats don’t say it. The problem in 2022 was not Cousins in the 2 min drill, it was his two out of three 3-and-outs before the final drives. We led the league [in 3-and-outs].

This is the quarterback ratings in the final two minutes of halves last season. This was an improvement for Cousins, who was about 30th a year earlier. Outside of Mahomes, you see anybody below Cousins you would like as your starter? Lamar Jackson maybe? I left out a couple of teams where guys didn't start a lot of games. Now we know why Denver went after Wilson.
