I didn't realize this: the Vikings have struck a deal with the NFL.

The Vikings' opposition is allowed 4 no calls of pass interference for the 1st 4 quarters, and then the Vikings get a free no call of PI, to be used either late in the game, or in OT.

Yep, but it was more like 4 per quarter for the first 4 quarters. Then we got one I forgot if it was during the Bills FG drive or in OT.

the commentators kept saying 'they're letting them play' - but they sure didn't let hockenson play when he was called in the endzone - i thought that was a bs call, too....

No. That Hockenson OPI was beyond obvious. However, letting the Bills Grab the jersey of Jefferson on EVERY route he ran can't happen again with the next team. NFL offices have to get film of that and give the refs a DIRECTIVE not to allow it.

Was it soon after allowing the catch that wasn't?
I was thinking, "make up call? "

Might have been. I forget if it happened in late regulation or in OT, but we got one break like that. I think they got around 20.

Bercich was looking at film and noticed that the Bills had 12 guys on defense in OT when the Vikings were 1st down at the 2.

They probably looked real fast on that play

o'connell mentioned a play where they had 12 men during his presser....

Isn't that a reviewable call, or used to be?
Seems to me they reviewed it against us in the NFCCG v. NO and I've seen a few w/ GB

Hard to review when it wasn't caught until after next play.

Seeing it live I was pretty sure he didn't catch it. The NFL should have had somebody see that too.

Caught by whom? Do not the Vikes have a review team - or whatever it's called? I don't know all the ins-and-outs but certainly they are not dependent on a network for a look, are they?

I know on some it was a different view...Leber caught the 12 men on the field after the game.

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/14/2022 9:41:20 AM)

Saw a snippet of good morning football and they were talking about how well the line blocked. Von Miller was not in much. Von Miller actually got tired of Facing our RT and moved to our LT and had about as much success.

Another thing that isn't talked about is that the Vikings figured out a base package where they had the advantage and didn't change it or substitute it for a while....Buffalo loves rotating Dline and other positions which is a good check mark for the Off Coaching side.

There was two officials on the sidelines front and back looking right at it. It's possible it looked good from both angles but not probable to wear a look wouldn't of been warrented, imo

Im trying to remember the play prior to this non-call. If there were subs in and out the procedure would of been to count and signal the referee. Lots going on in this crazy game, though

I contend this one should of been, too. Maybe that's not NYs job. Or they had a better game to watch more closely ;)
They probably would not correct such an error missed on the field - but they do have a direct line, no?

The clock was stopped. It wasn't like the replay officials would have been stopping the clock.

The Replay officials have one job in these situations. If it's a catch, no harm making sure.

Officials who make egregious mistakes need to be fined. Suspended for a week. There are judgement calls that are just part of the game. This was a blatant error by people in a booth with all kinds of angles to look at. I think they could have buzzed down for 12 men also.

Sometimes I skim read. It should have been obvious to me that you were talking about another play. Can penalties be called from review? I don't think they should. Otherwise every play could be reviewed looking for a holding penalty.

Brandel held his own. Hopefully he doesn't have to do it this week.

They review when a 12th guy is running off the field to see if he makes it or not. This is a black or white penalty, no gray area. You can't review judgement calls.

I really like it when Cousins and KOC keep their main defense on the field when they love the matchup; hardly saw that last year.

Lars -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/14/2022 10:29:48 AM)

My $0.02:

Wow - what a game! So refreshing to be on the right side of one of those games!

Great job fighting to the finish! Shows guts.

The refs were horrible. Our WR were repeatedly mugged. And I still think Cousins made it in on the sneak.

I was not a fan of the prevent defense we were playing.

PP played outstanding! Wow!

Dalvin has not lost a step. That run was HUGE!

They tried to protect Booth and it didn't help him.

Lars -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/14/2022 10:30:40 AM)

The GB/DAL game was gross. I wanted them to both lose!

I was in shock we went to the prevent on that final regulation drive. Our receivers were mugged beyond any question play after play after play. PP gets my game ball over JJ. Dalvin's 81 yard TD was the game changer. Without that we go into the 4th quarter down 17. With it down 10 and having momentum.

They show us an angle that was impossible to know where the ball was when his shoulder went down. Shouldn't they have a camera right down the goal line for the TV viewer?

I'm not saying he was in but it would be nice to have a good angle for the fans.

It looked very clear to me Cousins was stuffed. Not sure what you're seeing if you think differently.

Usually we get a camera angle right down the goal line and you can tell if ball is touching line or not. Maybe JJ was in the way of that camera because he came running into the picture from that side.

Lars -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/14/2022 10:45:36 AM)

It looked to me that when he kinda rolled over and made his last lunge that the ball clearly made it in. Doesn't matter and happy to be wrong, it's just what I saw.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/14/2022 10:46:54 AM)

Spots should be measured electronically so we can remove human error. Too bad the NFL is so strapped for cash.

I agree. Cousins doesn't seem like a good qb sneak guy.

And I could be wrong too. And you're right...it doesn't matter. Not from our winning perspective. Crazy moment though. From gut punched to pure elation. This game had my stomach and head doing circles.
