Here's the Sam Smith song. It, of course, rankles the right because Sam is a They. Instantly a devil worshiper amongst the believers.

Sensational song and video. It tells a story that is very common place in America. Better than anything I've ever heard out of Rihanna.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uq9gPaIzbe8

Now, back to football.

I don't care what "They" do, think, or feel, it's a big whatever to me. It's people like you, and your politics, who keep this world from having peace more than someone that is a "They"

Does 'they' mean 'fat satan'? Don't know all the new age terms.

Some nerves have been touched.

Nerves touched, or phobias revealed?

Good Try--Grammys is 5 hours of boring.

Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson, who played through a torn adductor this postseason, will undergo surgery for the injury later this week, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The adductor controls the flinch muscles and nerves allowing Johnson to perfect his special talent of jumping offsides. Unique to only .01% of the population, it is commonly known as FlincherAdductous. A highly placed team source noted "the surgeon better get this right, for without that ability he goes from All-Pro to All-Turd. We already have SpotTrac and OverTheCap pulled up to see the cap ramifications if we have to cut him." Coincidently, Green Bay trainers and doctors have arrived in town, speculation is they have great interest in the situation.

Paul Maguire was a sneaky good analyst back in the day. Former punter that never took himself too seriously. I was a big Merlin Olson fan also.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/14/2023 9:19:54 AM)

Don Meredith, Howard Cosell, and Frank Gifford on old school MNF..

Meredith was a tool though..

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/14/2023 9:59:53 AM)

I like any announcer/announcer crew that can keep the discussion about the actual game going on and sprinkle in additional info about the players and coaches. I prefer a tone like Aikman, Romo, and Greg Olson. I despise announcers who try to force a narrative onto the game that isn't there. Collinsworth and Joe Buck do this a lot. Collinsworth also seems to use a fake voice about half the time. He makes it lower and full of gravel. It's a distraction to me. Collinsworth likes to focus on one player and make the entire game narrative about that player. One game (don't remember the teams) he was focusing on a defensive player and the game ended on a sack. He arrogantly and proudly proclaims, "And guess who it is that fittingly made that big play at the end!" and it wasn't that guy at all. Just call the game that's actually going on. Christ. Al Michaels doesn't even seem to be watching the game.

I did like most of the crews from the old days. Madden was really fun but it's tough to forgive him for trying to be a local Minnesotan and then said they'd drive from Mankato to St. Cloud because it was quicker than going to the twin cities. Madden would also very often see something happen on the field and then say "yeah I was talking to the coach before the game and he said they'd be looking to do that". Tell us BEFORE it happens you dummy.

No doubt a cut and paste by his agency.

Another vote for Vin Scully. He was a great storyteller, and I never found him boring. I also liked Jack Buck a lot. He gave you the facts of the game, and not much else.

Sportrac says no but who knows? It says he has a 10 million base and 2 million of it kicks in 3/17/23 but according to them it isn't guaranteed.

All I know is the new league year starts mid March. How things such as 'likely to be expected' rehabbing in the new league year affect liability is in the area of the team attorneys.

Given their criminal history, the Wilfs are probably good to go with that.

They also copped a cool $500 million from the public for their stadium. Read the stadium is the 7th ugliest building in the world. Thought it was cool at first but now it looks like a 2000 Pontiac Aztec.

from the outside, it is ugly, but its interior is something special...that glass wall/door is great, too - view of the Minneapolis skyline....

A Packer fan wrote that piece.

I didn't mind the Dome other than it was only a slightly more convenient place to take a pee than Soldier Field

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/15/2023 10:34:11 AM)

The stadium itself is ugly from the outside. Not helping is that it's plunked into a small urban space with no natural beauty around it. Parking is a nightmare. There's roughly 300 tailgate parking spots TOTAL in all of the surrounding area and those are season pass. People holding those passes will never give them up. The big doors are cool and the skyline view is also cool. The aesthetics of the inside are top notch. Everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING else about the inside is terrible. Choke points in the concourse, overpriced mediocre concessions (even by NFL stadium standards), not enough bathrooms, and the concessions themselves are run by a different crew - sometimes different every game. This means long, slow lines. Even our Split the Pot raffle is a joke. You get 40% if you win and there's a cap on the total amount and they pull the winner the next day. Every other stadium I've been to it's 50/50 with no limit and they pull the winner in the fourth quarter. I imagine the Wilfs know that by waiting a day there's a high chance the person with the winning ticket will have lost it. Seriously - F those greedy pigs.

I used to go to six or seven games per season. Now I go to about three and with the money saved I go to away games. They should really just bulldoze that stadium and resurrect the Ardin Hills plan. Everything about that stadium and the surrounding area looked dope.

Ricky J -> RE: General Vikes Talk (2/15/2023 11:18:15 AM)

Everyone has opinions and that's totally fine. I'm easier to please than most. I'm done buying new or newer cars if I don't have to. I'm currently driving a 2004 Century, gotta 2009 Freestar ready to go when that one shuts down - still pissed I traded my 2003 Super Crew for the van, though. I like all stadiums baseball and football - loved being at the Coliseum, minor league ballparks are the best, sorry I missed Texas Stadium, although I did hang out front and read for a half hour with no one else around last time the Vikes played the Cowboys - ok, I lied, screw Jerry's World. I recently went on a tour of the USS Ike. "Rust bucket" is what I've heard some call it and worse. Pretty damn cool, IMO, though - like a lot of things

if we do nothing; when the league year ends we have a $7.5mm cap hit with tomlinson and he won't be playing for the vikings...if we extend him, we could lower that cap hit, and keep him, both...it's like shaving $3mm off our present cap and getting tomlinson as a gift...are we kicking cap hits down the road? - yes, we are....
