Kirk meets that threshold, so we know that. OK, well now how do you build the rest of the team around him

How about fielding an IOL that can actually pass block.

Kirk goes zero dark Lebron mode in the offseason.

"Let’s go all the way numbers, let’s go full numbers," Adofo-Mensah said. "So, we talk about necessary and sufficient conditions, right, in math. And so a necessary condition is having a starter-level quarterback, a quarterback of above a certain threshold. Now that doesn’t mean for sure you’re going to win, that’s not the only thing you need, but that is one of the things you need, right? So having a good-level quarterback is a necessary condition. Kirk meets that threshold, so we know that. OK, well now how do you build the rest of the team around him to make sure that you can win in that way? Different quarterbacks require different things around them, but we know that for sure, he meets that threshold.

How long does he meet that threshold? Those are things we’ve got to answer. Is there a chance to add somebody maybe with different skill sets? Those are all questions we’ve got to answer, so there’s not one right way, but I do know one thing, I know he is good enough, he meets that first threshold, and that’s a question that a lot of people can’t answer with a yes, so we’ve got to make sure we treat that in the proper importance that it is."

yes, all of the draft and free-agent mocks I've seen omit the o-line...i hope we don't resign Bradbury - i'd go for a fa right guard, center, and move ingram to left guard....

cleveland becomes an o-line super sub, or we package him in a trade as a tackle - or trade o'neill next offseason and move Cleveland to right tackle....

can we exist, with two tackles, each with $25mm/yr cap hits? - darisaw & o'neill....

extending a QB that is getting very old and never won at a high level would be a huge mistake. Might as well kept Speilman if that is the plan.

I wonder if he would have won at a high level last year if the defense was even close to the middle of the road. Just a sniff of the middle of the pack.

Worst defenses in Viking history, where does this one rank? I really don't know but I do know what side of the Bell Curve it is on

Maybe but I don’t see the speed on defense improving much in one year.

The recent drafts and personnel decisions made by the front office the past few years have been awful.

Collaborative lingo at its finest! Everyone walks away thinking, whew, I'm saved from the ax. But when the question is asked about what he really meant, everyone just shakes their head.

Conversely, usually when someone keeps blabbing like that you get the sense that person is hiding their real intentions behind word vomit. But in Kwesi's case, you have to adjust the length of the answer to accommodate for 'KwesiSpeak'.

We'll see if it translates into double-reverse smoke screens. As of now, it would appear other GMs have no clue about anything he will do because he's a weirdo in the GM world.

When I wrote that about the D what immediately popped into my head was Frazier - didn't know the year but it was painful knowing when the opponent got the ball late they were going to march right down the field and score. That was a sad time.

The build-up in negative equity — or the amount that debt exceeds a vehicle’s value — is rattling consumers and raising alarms within the industry. Though it’s not unusual for drivers to carry negative equity, some dealers say more people are arriving at their lots up to $10,000 underwater, or “upside down,” on their trade-ins. They’re buying at still-sky-high prices and rolling debt from one car to another and even onto a third. Loans are commonly stretching to seven years.

“As trade-in values begin to cool, each month more and more consumers will find themselves falling from positive to negative equity,” said Ivan Drury, director of insights at auto-market researcher Edmunds. “Unless American car shoppers break their habit of buying again too soon, we’ll see the negative equity tide continue to rise.”

The build-up in negative equity — or the amount that dead cap exceeds a quarterback's value — is rattling Vikings fans and raising alarms within the league. Though it’s not unusual for quarterbacks to carry negative equity, some GMs say more players are arriving at their team headquarters $10,000,000 underwater, or “upside down,” on their value. Stupid GMs are buying at still-sky-high prices and rolling cap from one contract to another and even onto a third. Void years are commonly stretching to seven years.

“As past their prime quarterback values begin to cool, each year more and more teams will find themselves falling from positive to negative equity,” said Kwesi, Minister of Collaboration of the Minnesota Vikings. “Unless GMs break their habit of renegotiating contracts again too soon, we’ll see the negative equity tide continue to rise.”

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (3/1/2023 3:29:46 PM)

I gave Kwesi a pass last year being new to the job and getting settled in. But he was deathly slow at getting things done before the new calendar year and he appears to be well behind this year as well.

Most teams have cut players and have reneg others to get in cap compliance. Meanwhile what has Kwesi done? He had a deadline with Tomlison and had to post date that. Why? You knew about this deadline for a year.

Couple this with reading his blather while rubbing shoulders with other GM's at the combine has me wondering about this guy.

Sorry, just thinking out loud.

Nope, changed it once. Glad to know you are tracking my edits, and since I edit a LOT you should redouble your efforts to get a more accurate take. Sometimes I edit just for a misplaced comma (obviously, grammar is not a big deal for you)!

Nope, first time you changed it was before the little "message edit by Bill" popped up" - beat the window of time - making the second edit sound better than the first ripping you started with

re: Glad to know you are tracking my edits ... I'm not, just happened to be there, that and no one jumps all over people about edits like you do - hense, my not being about to resist. Funny thing is, I probably deserve it and if someone has called me on it almost as much as you through out history it'd be Todd. ;/

But, I should have let that go. No doubt.

- do you enjoy pointing our all the negative things that pop up into your Id as you read (almost) everyone's posts?

Bottomline, I am flattered you track my edits [&o]

Did you catch this edit? Or edits?

I had one myself

Now that that's out of the way ill try and stay away from such topics.

- 48 milion in dead cap, huh?

I gave Kwesi a pass last year being new to the job and getting settled in. But he was deathly slow at getting things done before the new calendar year and he appears to be well behind this year as well.

Most teams have cut players and have reneg others to get in cap compliance. Meanwhile what has Kwesi done? He had a deadline with Tomlison and had to post date that. Why? You knew about this deadline for a year.

Couple this with reading his blather while rubbing shoulders with other GM's at the combine has me wondering about this guy.

Sorry, just thinking out loud.

The new year doesn't start for 2-3 weeks....Derek Carr's decision was early because it was setup that way in his contract.

Feb. 21-March 7: Window for teams to designate franchise or transition players. March 13-15: Legal negotiation window ahead of free agency. March 15 (4 p.m. ET): 2023 NFL League Year begins.
