Jackson is overrated.

But they are about as apples and oranges as you can get.

Breaking records / winning mvp your first year as the anointed starter is a standard Jackson simply has not sustained. It certainly informs the opinion that people hold for him though because he did it over a full season and won the mvp unanimously. So there is a higher expectation projected on him than, say a Cousins who has not and never will sniff that level of play. In 11 seasons vs 5 for Jackson.

Cousins is 34, Jackson is 26.

The ridiculous athleticism ... the cannon arm ... just like Cousins' arm talent ... greatly overshadow the nuances of the position that both players lack.

Two perfect examples of how a few basic stats are neither a fair nor honest comparison.

It would be the same mistake as Denver paid for Russell Wilson....he are paying him for what he did before he was paid versus what he can really do now.

Jackson does have the age factor but being as injured as he has been---he will have to run less (and can he be that good of passer)? Geno took until he was 32-33 to improve that part of his game.

Was his reason for not playing at the end of the season legit? Seems like there were a lot of people questioning why he wasn't playing. If I had my doubts about his reasons as a GM I most certainly wouldn't give him the contract he wants.

But obviously I'm just getting my info from the Twitter experts as I do a drive by. And it's pretty easy to see if he was your QB last year and he wasnt playing for you in the most important part of the season you'd be real disappointed.
