HA.... after reading that I'm not sure! But very happy we basically won a few Super Bowls. I have some other versions like one where some pudgy kid named Stram is booted out from under the wooden stadium stands and says "I'll show you... ALL of you." Or one where Joe Greene (for this thread, Joe Green) got the nickname Mean Joe for a heroes deed and always wanted to live up to it. And really that 41-0 loss to the Giants would have changed if not for.... (still working on that one). But instead, I'm off to rationalize a few more Lakers championships.

Unusual for me to say, but I like the Vikings' chances at GB. Flores defense seems to give any QB with less than 2 years experience trouble, especially at crunchttime. Need the game to boil down to Love in the 4th quarter, he has been mistake prone. Hopefully Aaron Jones is still limited in carries.

Yep, Cleveland is way too slow for guard. He has looked relatively good compared to the likes of Elflein, Badbury, Ingram the rookie, etc. but he's still below average. Hope he is done here as a starter, and when he hits FA this offseason another team signs him.

Purdy didn't take many hits, but he did attempt a pair of quarterback sneaks midway through the fourth quarter, and Shanahan acknowledged those plays might have been when it happened. Video replay of the first of those attempts, which came on a third-and-1 with 7:03 left in the game, shows Purdy attempting to run behind left guard Aaron Banks to pick up the first down as Minnesota linebacker Jordan Hicks runs into the pile and makes helmet-to-helmet contact with Purdy. After that sneak attempt, Purdy went 2-of-5 (not including a spike to stop the clock) for 20 yards with two interceptions to finish the game.

Maybe affected Purdy's play on some level, sounds more like it affected his plane ride home more than anything. It doesn't mean SF would have pulled it out with no concussion involved. Winning at GB makes it a distant memory. Some wins feel more legitimate than others ... we deserved that win. Its just a shame that it taints the defensive effort ... nothing about this franchise is 'shiny and chrome'.

I try to be objective as possible and have been brandished a hater because I can be hard on this team. If we had been getting drummed by teams you could say this win was a bit fluky. We have been in every game and only have a losing record because of dumb TO's. We have hung with what are said to be the elite of this league. I expect us to keep it rolling and clobber GB in their place.

Just the timing of it makes me wonder. The article said Purdy wasn't getting hit, then talked about a helmet to helmet hit with 7 something minutes left. After that, he throws two picks. One was a totally bad pass. It remains to be seen how Purdy handles pressure (assuming no effects of the concussion), but his last two outings are in the 'not good' category. All in all though, it was a great game and except for Joseph and goal-to-go plays all phases played great and inspired. Felt like SF was not going to escape with a win, although it was tight at the end.

If Monday night is any indicator, we should dominate GB. No coming out flat after a big win. No excuses about the refs. Just a beatdown. Unfortunately, Monday night was just 1/7th of the season so who knows.

Especially for a team that likes to play close games. Not even likes ... not even a hunger in the loins ... we are married to it (games being close). Whichever Viking team shows up that weekend, however good or bad the opponent ... we need to be stingy giving away points on offense as well. The good news is the run game in general may be close to turning a corner ... now that we figured out that Mattison is better as a compliment. Hopefully, along with improvement in the run game, the attitude required to punch it in will follow. (And as long as we stop trying to mash KC over the goal line like Jalen Hurts)

The way I see it, it doesn't matter whether I'm holding out hope for a playoff run or hoping for a high draft pick. There is no way any NFL player is going to "tank" any game for a future draft pick. They're all playing for their own future on this team or another NFL team. I wouldn't respect nor want a player on our team that didn't give everything they have to win regardless of the team's record. I think we as fans think about future draft picks, etc., but that thought doesn't enter into the minds of the men actually playing the games. Why should it? Why would they give less than their best so that some future draft pick takes their spot on the roster? So, the season will play out. Maybe the team goes on a run, maybe they suck the rest of the season. But, whatever "I hope" happens doesn't matter as it's all in the hands of the coaches and the players.
