Winder may have had some cheap hits, but he had quite a few strike calls that were well out of the zone.

Hey, I'm not coming to the defense of thirteen-five era guy, just saying, enough cheap hits did fall in during this appearance to last a few outings.

Lots of moments not to be proud of but Buxton's swinging strike 3 with runners on and not completely out of it, yet, was a dozzy. I'm sure it hit the chalk in the front corner of batter's box.

We had a stretch of bad plays/decisions that gave momentum back to Houston.

Runner at 3rd, one out, pop up bunt, no run
Runner at 3rd, no out, no run

Watkins got lucky catcher dropped ball or we would have had a guy thrown out at home with no outs.

I'm gonna say something controversial. Jose Miranda is a better hitter than Royce Lewis.

One star?

All good points. I love Castro, but at times, he takes it upon himself to make some bad decisions. Kepler hits it right back to the pitcher on a contact play. Watkins is the latest in a line of terrible 3rd base coaches.

I got a chuckle out of Kepler running through the stop sign and scoring easily - not a great throw but still

He was 2 for 4 with an RBI last night. It wasn't all bad.

11 for 11 for Miranda. I'm really happy for him. After a good rookie year, he worked with Correa and committed to improving his conditioning and defense. Then he had it all wiped out by a shoulder injury. He stayed committed and is reaping well deserved rewards.

Miranda 12 for 12

And the streak ends at 12 for Miranda.

That tied the MLB all time consecutive hit's streak record. If only he could have got one more.

I was hoping for a home run for 13 personally.

If it was me i would of bunted with 2 strikes ;)

Other years with 12/12: 1952, 1938, 1902 -- probably not too many people posting on here were alive yet last time it happened. We'll take it!

Per Gleeman he is one of 3 ML Centerfielders with an OPS over 800

How pathetic is that for the rest?

I missed being alive then by 7 years. The statistical probability of a .333 hitter getting a 12 in a row hitting streak is 1 in 531,441 if I did the math right. Damn impressive, but honestly I thought the number would be in the millions.
Change it to a .250 hitter and the odds against are 1 in 16,777,216. That's what exponential growth gets you.

Not only that he drove in all 3 runs the Twins scored.

And it sent his OPS surging to. 539. Roughly 200 points below major league average and 37 points below the last place batter with enough qualifying AB.

That will cover up the fact he should never have been batting in the 9th inning of a tie game.

Sure he won the game, but it’s like having 20 in blackjack and taking a hit and getting an ace.
