Maybe the agents were just happy to talk with a Vikings rep not requiring Navajo Code Talkers to understand.

Hopefully, KOC wasn’t too collaborative / didnt divulge too much. It should be pointed out that agents buddying up to KOC is actually MORE complimentary of Kwesi, if you look at the nature of sports agents. They’re not patting you on the back to be friendly, they’re placing a ‘kick me’ sign.

But that's just me making light of a situation I know little about. For my money, KOC and KAM have done well while learning on the fly, fighting a lack of resources, and purging some of the wonkiness of Spielman's and Zimmer's last 3 or so years of turmoil. They have holes in their games but who doesn't, and I think they are making progress. The approach has been unconventional but two of the three years IMO we have outplayed our talent level and certainly expectations before each season. Although those teams were short of playoff competitiveness. Hopefully that changes this year. Its kind of iffy with a rookie QB but I'll take that rollercoaster ride over Rogers or Cousins.

This team is in phenomenal shape. What a great hand off to a young man. JJM would/could gut it out but with this lineup he's going to want to score on every drive. He's going to knock teams out with our big play guys.

Jackson was on the 2024 Freaks List from The Athletic: A two-time first-team All Big Ten selection, Jackson is a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete who has started 26 consecutive games at left guard. The Texan is a former five-star recruit who has lived up to the hype. The 6-4, 320-pounder bench pressed 490 pounds this offseason and squatted 610. His agility is just as impressive. His 1.59 10-yard split is faster than any offensive linemen has ever clocked at the NFL combine since the league officially has kept that stat. (Duke’s Jacob Monk did a 1.66 this year, which tied Weber State’s Sua Opeta from 2019 as fastest.) Asking a guy who is among the very best at his position to move to one he hasn't played since HS is kind of a big deal. If he struggles with the switch, it costs him literally millions of dollars.

Jackson validated the positive feelings about his character with comments about sliding out to left tackle during Ohio State’s postseason run. Jackson had never played the position. He knew he could be affecting his draft stock by playing out of position. I wanted Zabel or one of the big DT's but they were all gone by 24. Really wanted to continue to address the interiors of both lines. Jackson was one of the remaining I wanted, love the pick. Our offense is stacked now, without a glaring weakness. If we stay relatively healthy we'll be a real force to be reckoned with. I'm starting to feel and dream about the Vikings the way I did as kid in the Purple People Eater days.

At this point, I’d rather just gamble on a young prospect you think has the grit and leadership that will get YOU over the hump when they get to that situation.
