I wouldnt mind a bit if Cousins was here to be a back-up but he'd have to give the discount this time or no deal - no deal probably makes the most sense. These guys aren't paying him big bucks. His days of the big bucks stopped in Atl.

I would actually be disappointed. They've (hopefully) moved on. Don't go backwards. Is KC's a better backup at this point than anyone? Maybe/probably. Just dont go there, no matter the cost or value. Lets move forward even if it backfires.

Cousins could hardly even move last season. He couldn't go under center and even take a couple steps fast enough to hand the ball off on a running play. Guy is toast. Why bail out the Falcons out either.

**** him.

He couldn't wait to roll out of here for more money last offseason. Don't want him back.

After Kirk's achilles injury I think Howell may be the better option.

So our backup plan at quarterback is Sam Howell? What, was Thurston Howell not available?

Sam Howell is terrible.

IMO; we're still working on bringing cousins back as #2...howell is smoke....

we're $17mm under the cap for a reason....

.

Asante Samuel Jr. (is the rumored reason).

I read that Vikings are bringing Nebraska CB Tommi Hill for tryout. Might be a darkhorse for PS.

There was a stat that had Hill and McGlovern as two of the top 10 at defending the pass 23-24......has to be an injury history Hill has to overcome to not get anything more than a tryout.

David Levine -> RE: General Vikes Talk (4/30/2025 8:16:57 PM)

Maine wide receiver Montigo Moss, the son of Hall of Famer Randy Moss, has accepted an invitation to the Vikings’ rookie minicamp, Moss’ representation announced Tuesday.

Montigo Moss went undrafted over the weekend, but his father’s team will give him a shot as a tryout player.

Montigo Moss caught 61 passes for 722 yards and seven touchdowns in earning All-CAA honors last season.

Battles for roster spots?

Pick 2: Wilson - King - Asamoah
Pick 2: Redmond - Rodriguez - Ingram-Dawkins
Pick 1: Richter - Murphy
Pick 3: Rouse - Byrd - Jergens - Skule if they only keep 9 OL (Brandel gets a spot)

there are some 'experts' who predict that a udfa named Austin Keys, LB, Auburn is going to make the final 53....

richter is hard to bet against, but murphy seems to be more of an edge type - keep both....

i'd try to keep a couple of extra trenchers because our d-line is older, our o-line is new, and our center is coming off an injury....

also, i'd pay young players to practice squad, or ir a season....

Agree with the outcome of those fictional battles. Note Byrd or Skule are in play even with 9 OL. Figure the latter as he is a tackle.

In addition to the DL being older, for some reason it already feels like it needs a makeover. But with Flores the DL might again not be on the field a lot, who knows.

Will await the obligatory surprise player who takes training camp by storm.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/8/2025 7:35:39 AM)

Now that last year is a speck in the rear view mirror I'm kind of glad things played out as they did for JJM. In the sense where he was only ever in a position to watch and learn. Get hungry. I think the situation now meshes with his mindset.

I love some of his quotes.

I love the way things are looking.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 9:05:23 AM)

Daydreaming about seeing Jefferson/Addison/Hill as 1,2,3 next year.

If the OL and run game are solid and JJM is the real deal we would go 20-0.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 9:42:45 AM)

You're more likely to see Jefferson/Nailor/Hill as 1,2,3 for the first couple of games.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 10:02:06 AM)

If it was this year, no?

Saying that it would be great to just see Nailor take a step up to the next level.

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 10:11:51 AM)

Who is Hill?

Or more likely

Jefferson Nailor MOORE or FELTON

True.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 10:23:03 AM)

Yeah TODD! WTF is Hill? I think he meant Felton and I was too stupid to catch it. Moore, will be (if he makes the team) a gadget guy, IMO.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 11:06:44 AM)

Tyreek Hill who we obtain next year.

My bad. You're not mind readers.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 11:08:10 AM)

I thought Todd was in full daydream mode with Jefferson/Addison/(Tyreke) Hill.

And that Jeff essentially joined the ruminating when he said you're more likely to see Jefferson/Nailor/Hill as 1,2,3 for the first couple of games because of Addison's likely suspension. At this point, nevermind that the fantasy would be Jefferson/Hill/Nailor.

But if you both thought there was a Hill on the team, who is apparently pretty good, well that's another matter!

Edit: So the daydreaming was addressed, next year means 2026, and it's Tyreek not Tyreke. Alright, let's close this ASAP.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 12:11:17 PM)

I just had a brain fart. My eyes saw "Hill" but didn't catch that it was a simple error. I saw "Hill" but read "Felton". Damn, glad it's Friday!

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 12:12:41 PM)

BTW - if there were a dream of Hill on this team I would run for the hills (see what I did there?). That dude is talented but a total room killer.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/9/2025 12:23:37 PM)

But we're his favorite team!

Not sure Addison is much better character wise than Hill. Hopefully, its just juvenile behavior stuff he'll grow out of ...

The short video / interview stuff I've seen of Hill sure comes across as entitled jerk. That's a snap judgement of course ... but that's how he comes across to me at least.

So, even though our 'good guy culture' worries me – especially around playoffs – I'd rather not run head first into diva problems along with the price tag.

Really looking forward to seeing if all the investment this offseason will pay off in some on-field toughness.

Hard to believe just how soft in our middle we've been, for so long.

Not sure Kwesi and Kevin can orchestrate the brute force necessary to contend ... on paper they're trying at least.

it's going to be jeff/addison/felton...nailor gets traded somewhere between our first game and the trade deadline....

I don't get how a guy who tested out at .08 passes out in his car on the freeway....was he on meds?...i figured the judge would throw it out of court....

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (5/11/2025 10:25:23 AM)

From what I understand it keeps getting delayed in the SoCal courts but insiders are thinking the NFL might punish him without an official verdict from the courts. I.E. - first 2-3 games of the season.

Word is the NFL is starting their annual Suspension Announcement Day (SAD) this year to drum up interest during training camp.

Imagine the excitement,,,
What players are on the secret official NFL docket?
What are the range of penalties?
Who will step up?
Who might be cut?

There will be Punishment Value Charts. Like the first substance-related transgression is worth two games. And choking a woman (no blood leaks from the eyes) is a $100K fine and a game (leakage is six games).
There will be mock trades, like trading someone pissing under a stairwell and a 2026 transgression in return for getting caught with a whizzinator.
There will be special categories like multiple-player Love Boat outings.
Create your own mock punishments! Most mocks have Addison getting three games. Will the NFL reach with something else?
Live cameras will capture both GM and fan reactions for all 32 teams!

Join host and announcer Ray Rice in prime time, June 15th.
