Cool. Start him.

I agree. I say no better time than the present to perform the lobotomy. Rutgers ain't walking through that door any time soon.

This whole nonsense that he needs to be 101% before he plays is just that, total nonsense. There isn't a starting quarterback in the league that is 100% right now.

Rutgers in the NFCN now? Ohio State? Alabama? Washington?

But if he is healthy, play him. Period.

I'm telling you, he ain't hurt!

Again.....why does it matter for your third or fourth favorite team what week he returns?
Win games and develop the 22 year old.

14-3

to a guy that can't even get on the field after being drafted 10th overall.

It's pure arrogance. Don't mess with success.

TJSweens -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/1/2025 9:14:14 AM)

14-3 is such a pointless and stupid argument. Remember 15-1 with an NFC title game? How did Randle Cunningham do the next year?

Brad H -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/1/2025 9:18:15 AM)

You guys continue to avoid the obvious in an attempt to save face.

This would be an easy way to end this conversation:

Brad H was right!

If we did that we'd be lying.

TJSweens -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/1/2025 9:48:53 AM)

A more accurate response would be Brad H is a hypocrite, who sells out his previous positions to suit his new argument.

You are just guessing. Why even post about your fourth favorite team?

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/1/2025 1:09:08 PM)

Some really disturbing stats that I heard that doesn't bode well for us.

Purple Daily compiled the worst sack rates since 1990 and we currently at #3 with 14% (the record is 14.5 so we are close to the worst [:-])

Dallas Turner is rated 100 out of a possible 122 by PFF

Getting mopped in the playoffs is not success.

Glad Darnold is playing all right on a good team, but I wouldn't want him as my starting QB in the playoffs.

My argument is based purely on feeling, and I feel that McCarthy will be a great QB soon, he doesn't remind me of Christian Ponder. He gives me the feeling he is a quick learner that can rise up at anytime, and lead the team to victory.

I had him on my FF team, dropped him, but am considering picking him up again, now that the team that picked him up dropped him. But the schedule gets a little brutal, you have a bye, then Philly and then at Chargers and at Detroit.

But this is still potentially an explosive offense with JJ and now Addison, Hock, Mason, and maybe Jones comes back and shows he hasn't lost a step.

It has nothing to do with who is playing RT, C, or QB. Just win the game this week then the week after the bye.
This talk about who is playing QB for the week is as important to me as who is playing C or RT because it is a team sport. Get thru the week and hopefully get healthy during the bye week.

TJSweens -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/2/2025 7:35:44 AM)

Looks like there is a good chance the Vikings will be going with their third string center on Sunday. Jergens has a hamstring injury and Brandel is taking all of the reps at center.

Also Darrisaw didn't practice after a rest day.

So outside of Darrisaw and Fries everyone else is 2nd or 3rd string.....uugh.

twinsfan -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/2/2025 11:35:53 AM)

How do practice squad guys get much out of practicing with like 5 other guys? It's gotta be pretty boring. Not even enough guys to play 9-man scrimmage.

Darrisaw was a planned rest day. he will play

What I read was Tuesday was the planned rest day and he didn't practice yesterday.

Practice squad guys practice with the team.

Jeremiah Sirles talked about it on a podcast.

(don't know for sure if they travel overseas... but i think they must as they can bring guys up at any given moment)

Where is our totally healthy second year quarterback?

Wentz should play all right, he is now playing for his job on Sunday, or the opportunity to be traded, if he does well.

I think JJ is our savior, and if Wentz doesn't solidly his job this week, it will be JJ taking over to save the season, and get this team a wildcard spot.

BisonFan -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/4/2025 7:19:16 AM)

I expect the game against the Browns to be ugly for both teams. Hopefully we make a special teams play or two to give us the win. I just want to get to the bye and hope our injured players start getting back. SKOL!

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/4/2025 7:58:12 AM)

McCarthy showed more in 1 Q at Chicago, then I can ever recall Darnold doing in comeback fashion. Maybe I am forgetting, I don't recall Darnold bringing the team back from behind to victory in the 4th quarter last year ?? (and on the road as well).

Might be unwatchable. I think the game will hinge on turnovers which doesn't bode well for us being Wentz is a TO merchant.

The other side of that coin. He wasn't behind often.
