There are actually rules governing this.

I know there have been "re punts" when the Jerry Jones mega screen in their stadium would get hit by a punt.

They should have been awarded a re kick.

It looks like you’re right.

quote:

Hitting objects over the field

Skycam wires and video boards: If a kicked ball strikes a video board, skycam, or any other wire or object suspended over the field, the play is immediately dead. The down is replayed from the previous spot without a penalty

Vikings got screwed.

Seems Reichard would have been the best person to notice it. If he did, wondering if he brought it up to KOC? Or did the Special Teams coach? Did KOC say anything to the refs?

If there was complete inaction on the teams part, then the team let themselves get screwed.

May have been able to challenge the play

I see.

Even as a minimum just throw the flag so as to stall however briefly to convince the refs they have their head up their arse... ergo please discuss it.

Disciplining Addison is the smart move, and he will be successful with a team that is strict with him. I have a feeling the Vikings will do the right thing with him, and keep him under control, and reap the benefit of a playmaker.

McCarthy had great chemistry with Addison, I very much look forward to McCarthy playing with both Addison and JJ, along with Hock and Mason, and even Jones if he can come back from injury looking like he still has the initial quick burst.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/6/2025 5:07:47 PM)

Looking at the upcoming schedule, I would for sure start Wentz against Philly. Many players play great games against their former teams, and getting a home victory over Philly completely changes this season, no matter how it is accomplished.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/6/2025 5:13:05 PM)

Then the question is whether or not to give JJ his first start back in an away game. If you want to do it just right, to help give him his confidence back, you have his first game back be a home game where the crowd noise can almost win the game, along with an aggressive approach by BFlo.

So JJ's next start should be the game at home against the weak Baltimore defense.

As long as Wentz can stay healthy, he starts at home against Philthy, then the 2 away games against SD and Detroit, JJ starts in week 10 at home against Baltimore.

Maybe, but would have hoped Jefferson would have had a big influence.

JJM literally had no NFL game experience with Addison.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/6/2025 10:36:51 PM)

It's possible Jefferson has already had a big influence on Addison, that had Addison gone to many other places, he would have gotten into quite a bit more trouble. Now it's just a matter of him maturing.

JJM had great chemistry with Addison in practices and scrimmages, it's only a matter of time before these two are lighting it up on the scoreboard.

I have McCarthy back on my fantasy football team, made a major trade getting Dak Prescott, 2 RBs and a WR, getting rid of the 1 Packer on my team (Jacobs), and gave the other guy Jayden Daniels, and just got the win and the highest score I have ever gotten, and am ready to roll, and to watch the Vikings roll.

Anybody watch Jags/Chiefs...

Fun game.

Appartently Jags have same playcall/time management system as Vikes... every single play getting under 5 seconds before it's snapped.

Lawrence is an enigma.... some very poor decisions... followed by some absolute dimes.

TJSweens -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/7/2025 7:34:40 AM)

I was impressed Lawrence improvised and scored the winning TD after his RG Ed Ingramed him. Lawrence popped back up and scrambled for the TD.

Yeah, that was a laugh out loud amazing play.
Stepped on, fell down, fell again while trying to get up and still had the wherewithal to find the endzone to beat the evil empire in the waning seconds!
Love to see that

Lars -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/7/2025 12:23:39 PM)

Lawrence - stop, drop, and roll TD!

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/9/2025 5:23:40 AM)

I am glad that neither Wentz nor McCarthy has given the sorta performance that Darnold gave us his last 2 games as a Viking, where you feel like the team has no chance. The Vikings have been in every game this year.

Who is going to be QBing against Philly ?

Did you miss the Falcons game?

It's bizarro world. The Falcons game was EXACTLY like those games. So was the first 3 quarters of the Bears game.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/9/2025 7:15:54 PM)

Disagree. I felt that we were still in the Bears game, and we were, and we pulled it out.

I felt that were still in the Falcons game, the defense kept us in it. I actually expected McCarthy to do the same thing as the Bears game, and pull it out.

The games against the Lions and Rams, it never felt like we were in it, and I didn't expect Darnold to bring us back. He has no history of bringing a team back from being behind by a few TDs, unless I am forgetting about some other regular season games last year. I don't recall his doing it when with the Jets.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/9/2025 7:52:59 PM)

Both Vikings tight end, have just 2 receiving touchdowns, combined, through 5 games.. the eagles have one tight end with 5..

Hockenson is a waste of space…and cap money.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/9/2025 11:57:08 PM)

A couple of weeks ago, I was hoping the Vikings would be underdogs at home against an undefeated (6-0) Super Bowl winning Eagles team, ripe for an upset, which would mentally be a turnaround for the Vikings season.

I guess you could say we're getting an Eagles team that is unravelling, but I see an angry Eagles team, going against a banged up Vikings team that doesn't really know which of 3 QBs will be starting.

This does not look good for the home team.

The Falcons game was a game we laid an egg and once Cashman and Van Ginkel were out we couldn't stop the run. Hopefully both are back after the bye.

Where is our healthy, young quarterback with the mysterious ankle injury?

On the bye. I would assume doing rehab at TCO everyday...why do you ask?

Anybody seen the QB Passer Ratings for the year?

The only ratings that matter are in the last two minutes.

14-3

That's what we gave up on.

It's called greed, people. It's a nasty thing.

Here we go again... the never ending Darnold cycle is back for a 187th appearance.

Death by 1,000 cuts. As I said two weeks ago, there is a very easy way to make this conversation go away.

Brad H, you were right!
