There's not a single zip code in the US where the Mets or the A's are the most popular team.

Bradley trade looking good right now.

If we can get Abel and Rojas up to speed, the sell off last year might be a turning point for a team that has struggled to find starting pitchers in the draft.

The only true sell off was Correa last year and he was in the midst of career decline.

They did get a pretty good return on the players on 1 year deals:
Bader, France, Columbe, Castro

And Cheap RP under control:
Duran, Jax, Varland, Brock Stewart

Such bull$hit that Falvey was let go.

Great day when he was canned.

What always pissed me off about Falvey is there is only One player in their "prime" that I remember were he was most aggressive getting in FA: Correa.

Donaldson not in his prime
Cruz not in his prime
Lynn ""
Pineda""
etc. etc.

He had to make a trade because he couldn't get a FA in their prime.

I found this interesting. There one game above .500. I didnt think they would at all this year.

No MLB team has utilized the new ball/strike challenge system better than the Minnesota Twins, who have challenged 42 pitches in 12 games and been correct 25 times (per Baseball Savant).
In fact, the Twins have gained 5.5 runs (3.1 vs expected) via ABS challenge so far this season... easily the best in baseball.

This helps prove how we've been so screwed over by umps in past years.

Uncharacteristic SWR tonight. Never seen him implode in one inning like that before.

TJSweens -> RE: General Twins Talk (4/11/2026 7:12:25 AM)

SWR is decidedly better at home than on the road. His splits show his era last year was 2 runs higher away from Target Field. Toronto is particularly bad, where his era is 11.25. He just couldn't get away from the middle of the strike zone in the 4th inning. Pitch after pitch, you could see he wasn't coming anywhere near his target.

TJSweens -> RE: General Twins Talk (4/11/2026 7:26:52 AM)

Now I'm reading that SWR was sick after eating at Subway.

He shouldn't have pitched.

The Twins have a high percentage of African American players compared to most teams in MLB. Bradley, Bell, Lewis, Buxton, Martin and SWR. That's 6 of 26.

Larnach?

Larnach is of Hawaiian descent. I guess they all look alike to Matt.

Or do you have any other challenges?

David Levine -> RE: General Twins Talk (4/13/2026 7:27:08 PM)

I may have underestimated the Twins...

But unlike Matt, I can freely admit when I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Pitching is top 3 so far. Defense is 27th. If they keep hitting .500 is a possibility.

I predicted 86-76. I may have underestimated them too.

LOL
1/10th of the season. It would be a hell of a Moneyball story but a lot of season left. So Bell quit golfing, Taj reads scouting reports and we look to have a decent 30 year old player castoffs in Tristan Gray and Clemmons.......like I told some family members Falvey maybe did a mic drop.

It doesn't minimize that they need to improve the defense and bullpen and add a bat or two. If they start drawing who knows...maybe Pohlad will open his checkbook....nah who are we kidding.

Maybe there's no reason to open the checkbook?

So you don't see the difference between Bell at $7 million and a say Clemmons at a Million?

A decent SS and LF really are a must and will cost some $$$$. Right now your best SS and LF(Larnach/Martin) defense have us at 27.

I don't know if Culpepper's defense or Erodg/Jenkins defense can do that.

Haven't even got to the Bullpen yet.

Twins Daily article on how Pohlads lack of spending actually hurt the value of team when they were trying to sell....comparing to what the SD Padres did.

Watched Dateline and saw a recent episode with Dan Sarafini (former Twins Pitcher).

He was convicted of murdering his father in law and attempted murder of his mother in law.

Dateline is still a surprise.

Twins defense and BP show why Reds win 1 run game and we can’t so far.
