Just checking in......
It will be July 4th in a little over 3 weeks, are just about out of it for the season yet?

In this weak ass division? No

Don't get me wrong. The Twins suck. but this division is so bad...and it is still technically early.

This is not the fault of the Twins organization. It's Delaware North screwing their employees.

??
There was only 500-1000 actual fans a game for many of the first dozen games. The Vending Companies and Employees are both hurting......Zero tip income.

Comfortably in 3rd place. Still feeling OK about this team.

How?

3rd in driving in runners in scoring position.
BP is ranked last.
SP is now ranked mid 20s.

They are 6 games under .500 and held together by bale string.

If you want to see teams with real problems, look no further than Detroit and KC.

The whole division is a mess. CWS might be the best team in the division after Ramirez injury.

Also Culpepper goes on IL today with Hip Strain.....
We are a mess.

twinsfan -> RE: General Twins Talk (6/16/2026 2:55:32 PM)

Nothing we can do about Culpepper.

Exactly.....he wasn't going to help the mess that is already there.

The over/under for wins at the beginning of the season was 73. They are now on pace for 75. Overachieving by 2 games over what everyone thought they were.

But sure, cheer because 2 teams are worse.

Smart to bribe people to go to games.

No other team is offering credits for attending games. No other team is offering another credit for attending Twins WINS! This is brilliant.

In other words, we have record low turnout so in lieu of fielding a good team, we'r trying a gimmick to goose attendence.

twinsfan -> RE: General Twins Talk (6/18/2026 11:44:20 AM)

Found the jealous people.

You're upset you're missing out on the deal!

We're 25th in attendance - averaging 3000 fewer fans than last year.

Its desperation.

twinsfan -> RE: General Twins Talk (6/18/2026 1:09:33 PM)

As part of the MLB and MLBPA’s collective bargaining negotiations, Major League Baseball proposed on Thursday the elimination of high school draftee eligibility as part of a broader framework to significantly rework the amateur player acquisition system.

The proposal would also cut the MLB Draft from 20 to 12 rounds, slash draft bonuses by more than 50% compared to last year’s totals, allow for more expansive trading of draft picks and establish hard draft slots, which would mean that a draft pick’s signing bonus would be for a set amount as determined by the draft position.

The proposal would also establish an international amateur draft that would have the same amount of bonus compensation as the MLB amateur draft. In previous CBA proposals, MLB proposed lower bonus pools for the international draft.

MLB’s proposal also assures these changes will not impact the number of affiliated teams in the MiLB Professional Development License (PDL) system. MLB stated that the number of affiliated MiLB teams would remain at 120, and that MLB would not be seeking reductions in the 2030 PDL negotiations with MiLB club owners.

Attendance this year is at an all time low for Target Field, is it not?

And the actual attendance appears to be much lower than the announced attendance. There were games where it appeared you could have nobody sitting within 40 feet of you if you so chose. And that’s first deck, not nosebleed.

RIP Al Worthington

Wow he was 97. I didn’t realize his Twins years were the end of a long career and he was 40 in his last season.

Lynn G. -> RE: General Twins Talk (6/19/2026 9:36:38 AM)

In those last couple of seasons he was our neighbor in Bloomington. He and his family rented a house two doors down from us and, I have to say, this was a very middle, middle-class neighborhood. The only fanciness was a house at the end of the block that added a pool (we thought they must be super rich).

Al Worthington was just your average neighbor, putting a slip 'n slide in his backyard for his kids, mowing his lawn in ratty shorts and t-shirts... He was patient when we kids would knock on his door asking for an autograph, but in every other way he was just a guy. If my memory is correct, they were there until he retired.
