John Childress -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/16/2009 4:17:56 PM)

I think it would be funny if the Eagles won the Super Bowl with one of their weakest teams of the decade.  All those years the team was loaded with Pro Bowlers and they choked and then a lesser team plays with guts.

Of course, they may have won in 04 without the Pats cheating.

We will never know.

I don't know if I can think of a worse team to host the NFC CG in recent memory.

AZ finished 9-7 and scored 1 more point in the regular season than they allowed, playing in a division where the other three teams were a combined 13W-35L.

People were really high on Atlanta and Carolina, before the Cards ripped both.[8D]

Who?

[&:] All I read was how Alanta would own the Cards. Carolina was still considered the best NFC team even though choked off the end of the Giants game. All I know is Arizona was considered the weakest of the 12 playoff teams, yet all they did was score early and often. The Cardinal just remind me of the Denny Green Viking teams that had no D, but were fun to watch and deadly with too large of a lead.

Now watching today, Cards make a huge mistake on the fumbled Inc on third and long. Great strip by Jackson. Now Philly can't make them pay, because DM, is not accurate today and Aikers just stopped being automatic of FGs. First play when the Cards get it back TD Fitz. Deadly and fun offensive football. Screw that maticulous 8 min field goal drive crap.

Just keep laughin at the Cards, everyone.
They have a really solid coaching staff.
Their play-calling this playoff season has been awesome, imo.
Has kept everyone off-balance.
Its not what happened months ago, its whats happenin now.

Jim Frenette -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/18/2009 3:59:43 PM)

Warner will lead the Cards to a win in the SB with Fitz being the MVP[;)]

I have $100 on todays game and I will parlay that into the SB

Todd M -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/18/2009 5:31:14 PM)

The loss is all they'll look at and Philly entertains trade offers for McNabb.

He'll be in Purple next year for a first and a 3rd.

We'll all get behind it. Eventually.

Tim Cady -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/18/2009 5:35:23 PM)

When have we all gotten behind anything?[:-]

Way to go, Jim! Bet you were getting a little nervous there when the Eagles went ahead.

Oh, I don't know. Flacco hasn't looked THAT bad...

Tim, Jim, DJskilz (others?), we ALL nailed it!

Going 2-6 so far in the playoffs, I'm in the perfect position to go out on a limb and predict that Arizona and Pittsburgh, the home teams will win this week.  I'm NOT going to go 2-8 going into the SB, I'm going AT LEAST 3-7, maybe 4-6.  [:)]   .... You will see Whisenhunt against his former team in the SB.

I suppose it's just statistical regression to the mean.  I started out 0-6 for the playoffs, but now am on FIRE getting the last FIVE correct.  Should be an interesting SB.

I'm not sure I REALLY want McNabb in Minnesota, it's too similar to Philly right now.  I'm not sure McNabb can overcome the Philli or Chili playcalling and get a team over the top, and the price would probably be steep for him.

You're kidding, right? He looked terrible.

Fargo, you need to read the post I was replying to.

Great rally Marty pickwise, but your math could use a little work.

Tim Cady -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/19/2009 10:36:31 AM)

[&:]I love marty, but I don't have a clue where he is coming from at times.

I had Pittsburgh losing to San Diego, but when they got past them, then I had them in the bowl.

I did pick Arizona 3 weeks in a row, but I equate that to a blind squirral.

djskillz -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/19/2009 10:38:50 AM)

That's how I feel this week too, Tim.

I won't make a full prediction yet, but I really think I'm inclined to take the Cards as of now.  They're just playing like a "team of destiny".

Chris Olson -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/19/2009 11:17:52 AM)

All the Defense wins talk would make more sense if the # 3 passing defense hadn't been completely dismantled yesterday...Boldin will be healthier and Wisenhunt knows Labaeu VERY well...I think the Cards ride the mighty Mo to a huge Underdog win!

It is going to be a fun game, because I really don't care either way (Tomlin winning is very cool, IMO)...I just hope it is a great game...gonna be hard to match last year's game, though.

djskillz -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/19/2009 11:21:51 AM)

Agreed.  I'm just hoping for a great game, and am fine with either team winning.

I honestly think Boldin could be the key to a Cards win.  Everyone will be focusing on Fitz this week after his display the last few weeks, leaving Boldin room to cause some damage.

Lars -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/19/2009 1:27:04 PM)

I think the PIT defense will be too much for Warber and the AZ OL.

I like PIT -7+.

Jim Frenette -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/21/2009 6:51:56 PM)

Got my bet in, Arizona +7

I did consider also taking under 47

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/23/2009 1:53:15 PM)

Sorry, it's FOUR in a row, not FIVE.  Not on fire, but somewhat of a small brushfire after starting out 0-6 for the playoffs  (it wasn't easy starting out that poorly).

I'm was leaning towards Arizona, but am starting to reconsider.  I probably won't make a decision until a day or 2 before the SB.

Easy E -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/23/2009 1:59:34 PM)

Not bad Marty, you'll be at either 36 or 45% for the post season! [;)]

I like Pit to win the game. 7 is the right number for Vegas to set the line at, that's a tough one. I'd probably lay the points.

DeLain -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/23/2009 2:06:27 PM)

I would bet that the line moves to 6...I like AZ at 7.

Oh yeah, they are a team of destiny and I do think that Whisenhunt and Grimm facing Pittsburgh, is not the Steeler's first choice.

I go Cardinals big, unless the stripes have another retirement reason for Pittsburgh to win, that I don't know about.[;)]...ask Mike Holmgren and Jerome B. what I am talking about.

DeLain -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/23/2009 2:08:50 PM)

Seattle is still livid about that.
