Ricky J -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/6/2018 7:13:00 AM)

I'm not sure I've ever felt better about a team on paper in my lifetime as this one.

Let's go, baby - make it happen!

Todd M -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/6/2018 7:36:18 AM)

My prediction is we don't lose 3 games this year;

14-2 ending 17-2.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/6/2018 7:46:36 AM)

Sure Todd, IF the Vikings get past the wildcard round, feel free to point that out, but until then, my prediction is correct unless the Vikings get a bye.

I think a lot depends on who they get matched up against in the playoffs (assuming they are in). If the Vikes don't get the Eagles or the Rams the 1st round, I think the Vikes would likely win, build up steam and go further. I would then have them going to the SB, and WINNING the SB if their opponent isn't Jax.

Todd M -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/6/2018 7:47:51 AM)

Nope. You are pegged a non believer.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/6/2018 8:28:53 AM)

I am agnostic, you are the non believer. [;)]

The 2 teams that I think may have underestimated are the Giants and the Bears, mainly depends on their defensive 2ndaries.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/6/2018 8:34:17 AM)

I am probably overestimating the 49ers at 12-4, but we will see.

Actually agnostics ARE nonbelievers by definition.

Agnostics neither believe or disbelieve, however if you don't believe you are a non-believer whether you disbelieve or not. [:-]

I believe that I am not sure I believe any of what you're saying I disbelieve. [;)]

Believe it.

Then why not make a prediction more in line with what you think?

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/6/2018 2:26:37 PM)

Ever made a prediction with your gut, questioned it later with your mind, and then the gut proved to be correct ?

They call that luck Marty

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/7/2018 4:10:19 PM)

My gut seems to be more 'lucky' than my mind.

Mark Anderson -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/7/2018 5:14:06 PM)

Vikes 31

SF 13

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/7/2018 7:18:48 PM)

My pick for the elimination thingy is the Rams over the Raiders.

I like the Packers over the Bears, would be a good moneyline bet. Strangely, I was thinking the Bears might sneak up on them and pull an upset, BEFORE the trade for Mack.

From a psychology standpoint, I think the Packers will respect the Bears more going in, and Rogers will surprise and play well, despite very little work in the preseason. The Pack have their OC from their SB team, and he likes to use screens to offset an aggressive defense, and I think the Bears will be smelling blood and playing aggressively, believing they are going to win.

Would be very happy to be wrong on the Facker/Bear game, but am hoping to be right with the Rams.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/7/2018 7:38:59 PM)

For awhile, I have thought SF will go into the opener as big underdogs, that they will respect Minnesota and prepare very well, and give it their best game. It would give them instant respect if they could go into Minnesota and pull the upset, proving last year wasn't a fluke, that Jimmy G is for real.

I envisioned a game where SF would get a couple of early TDs, and Cousins not having the chemistry yet would be up and down, and that the Vikings would lose this one in a close game.

But reading these boards has me excited, and maybe the Vikes will take it to the 49ers. The Vikes are coming off of a bad loss at Philly, and are the best road test Jimmy G has faced, as I am guessing the Rams pulled their starters the last game of the year.

But I am sticking with my original prediction, and hoping to be wrong. The Vikes many times don't do well when I predict them to win.

I had the Vikes losing to SF, and going 11-5, so if they beat SF, then I am thinking the Vikes win the division and go12-4. Should they win in GB week 2, then I am thinking deep playoff run.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/11/2018 9:52:47 AM)

Almost all the games on Sunday came out how I expected, and has my predictions for their records pretty close.

The exceptions, I probably should have flipped KC and SD, and the Rams and 49ers, and probably the Vikings and Fackers. For now, it would just mean the Vikes lose to the Eagles instead of the Rams in the 1st playoff round.

I now think the Vikes will go 12-4, maybe even better. 13-3 or better if they win at Lameblow. Excited !

joejitsu -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/11/2018 3:29:20 PM)

I predict that, with the sports media waiting anxiously all week for any news about rodgers and his knee injury, he arrives on game day to a trumpet fanfare and a kiss on both cheeks from joe buck. And, we still kick his ass.

This post is way off base.

You really think Joe would only kiss his cheeks?

I think there would be much more action going on. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Well there are other kind of cheeks. Will Joe Buck be broadcasting? The mute feature will need to be activated.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/19/2018 4:06:46 PM)

My pre-season predicted SB matchup [Jax/Rams], those 2 teams are now ranked #1 and #2. I wonder how long that will last ???

Bruce Johnson -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/20/2018 7:46:19 AM)

My hope for overtaking the Rams is that we have two players coming in to fortify the offensive line and hopefully they come together through the course of the season. I was thinking that our shiny new safety/ linebacker (Iloka) would make an impact. Maybe he still will, and of course hopefully Johnson may help give us a little more juice on passing downs. We'll see. If we can just loosen up the defensive front a little bit more, our stud running back should shine. The offensive line does need to get better. That has been our weak point outside of third receiver and kicker.

Ricky J -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/21/2018 9:42:54 PM)

LT rebounds and becomes the #3 receiver we all got sucked into believing he might be prior to the Packer game ...
