marty -> RE: Who will win the NFC North (9/17/2009 9:41:13 PM)

Predictions (sorry I didn't get them in last week):

1) Favre will throw NO INTs for the entire season, all the way to the Championship game against the Saints.  There, he will throw 3 picks to Sharper, but the Vikes will still WIN as AP goes for 257 yards.

2) AP will rush for over 2000 yards in the season, but will NOT break Dickersons' record

3) The Vikes will split with the Pack, I'm just sure which way.  I guess I'll go the logical with a dominating win at home, but lopsided revenge loss at Lambau.

4) Harvin will NOT be ROY, he will be 3rd in the voting.

5) The Cowboys will come together as a team and will take their division

6) The Eagles will be hot towards the end of the year with Vick at QB, they'll look unstoppable on offense, but will choke in the playoffs, possibly to the Vikings, but probably to the Falcons.

7) The Vikes will NOT lose to Randy Moss and the Patriots in the SB, they will NOT lose to the evil Kerry Collins and the well coached Titans, they will NOT lose SD, they will lose to the Baltimore Ravens (if they haven't lost to the Falcons or Saints before that).

I would like to see the Vikes get to the SB, but don't really want to see them lose another won, losing to the Ravens.  I think it's more likely the Vikes lose to the Falcons or Saints in the playoffs, I'll go with the dirty birds.

Once again, after a memorable season, the Vikes will lose the NFC Championship to the Atnalta Falcons 30-27.

Sorry.

Vikings 31 Lions 17

Favre: 17/25 228 yds 2 TDs

Def: 4 Sacks 2 Ints 1 fumble rec

Harvin: 132 yds total offense

Corey Nash -> RE: Who will win the NFC North (9/18/2009 1:05:47 PM)

I see the Detroit game as being a close game - again (like last year).  I don't think Childress gets the team into the right mentality to dominate a lesser-talented team, so we make mistakes that keep the lesser team in the game a lot longer than they should be.  If we can minimize the penalties and elimnate stupid turnovers, we'll win easily.  I just don't see it happening.

kwheats -> RE: Who will win the NFC North (9/18/2009 2:00:55 PM)

Favre is 13-3 verses Detroit since 2000,
I'll say better special teams, are kick ass defense, new and improved offensive personnel ,and a more balanced veteran team overall will result in a rare blowout this week Vikings 45-17 over the Lions. [sm=cool1.gif]

We had 0 turnovers and only 3 penalties last week.

And we won 34-20 and if not for a garbage time TD...the score wouldn't have been that close...

And Cleveland is a BETTER team than Detroit.

If we do the same this week...no turnovers and few penalties...and play STs just a little better (don't give up a TD), we win easily.

And minimize stupid coaching decisions, like kicking an onside kick to start the game against one of the worst teams in the league.  That was one of the stupidest decisions I've seen in awhile, mainly because we were the superior team and don't need to do stuff like that to win.  I would think the same thing even if we had recovered it.

Who isn't?

The Vikes are 19-3 against the Kitties over the last 11 seasons, 13-1 in the last 14 "contests".

69in09 -> RE: Who will win the NFC North (9/18/2009 10:37:30 PM)

38-10 Vikes

Jackson plays whole 4th quarter.

How did both of our "sure wins" go against the kittilions, last season, when they were an 0-16 team.?

yea, they were wins, but I seem to recall some knuckle biting...

Steve Lentz -> RE: Who will win the NFC North (9/19/2009 10:40:38 AM)

There are no sure wins in the NFL.

Vikes 28  Niners 10 and Singletary will be singing "old grey mare" w/ his pants around his ankles for his halftime speech.

Washington at Detroit  - best chance for a win for Detroit.  Wash is really struggling and Jim Zorn is overmatched calling the offense.  I am going with the Lions in an upset.
Lions 17-13
Lions 19-14

Green Bay at St. Louis  - the Lambs are terrible.  Even the shaken and stirred Packers won't lose to them.  This is a game for the Packers to "tune up" in preparation for getting tuned up on 10/5!
Packers 27-13
Packers 36-17

San Francisco at Minnesota - I see a tight game that the Vikings win late by gutting out a drive.
Vikings 13-10
Vikings 27-24

Atlanta at New England  - The "bridge too far" for the young Flak-ons.  atnaltA thinks it is an elite team already but their first two wins were not that impressive.  The Pats have a lot of pride and after getting undressed in the Big Apple they will be primed for a bounce back game.
Pats 27-23
Pats 26-10

Tennessee at NY Jets - everyone is picking the Titans in this game.  The belief is that the Jets, just like my view of ATL above, are not as good as they seem.  They feel this is the game the Jets lose because they are big-headed.  Add to that the fact that the Tits are desparate not to go 0-3 and all signs point to a Tenn win.     I am going to go the other way.  I think Tenn is as bad as they looked in the first 2 weeks.  People are going off of last year's record but don't take into account fully the loss of their DC and Haynesworth.  Remember the last few years that D wasn't nearly as good without big Albert even when Schwartz was still there.  I see the Jets holding them off.
Jets 23-20
Jets 24-17

Kansas City at Philadelphia - If Croyle was starting I might go for the upset but I have no faith in Matt Cassel.  No McNabb for the iggles and Westbrook and Jackson are limping and missed practice this week.    The Eagles are primed for a loss but KC just doesn't have the firepower to do it.  Eagles rebound with a tough win before their BYE.
Eagles 29-23
Eagles 34-14

NY Giants at Tampa Bay  - Giants lose their good safety Kenny Phillips and he may not ever play again.  That is a real shame.  I really liked him.  TB has a suprisingly strong offense this year despite their record.  The Giants run defense was a sieve against Dallas and now they lose their centerfielder.  However, I think there is still too much talent left on that team to lose to this bunch.
Giants 34-31
Giants 24-0

Cleveland at Baltimore - this could be a letdown "trap" game for the Ravens but Cleveland fake Browns stink.
Ravens 23-10
Ravens 34-3

Jacksonville at Houston - Jags are in deep trouble and could be playing their HC out of a job.   The Texans finally stood up and won a decent game.  They could get caught napping by the Jags but I am saying they hold them off.
Texans 23-17
Jaguars 31-24 (I guess Houston is just not ready for Prime Time!)

8-1

I predict that, in spite of what happened today, the whining from the Favre haters will continue to be absolutely unbearable for the next eight days.

Since Vulcans are unemotional...I don't think they have a translation for that.
I am sure you can find the translation into Klingon though.  Look for the Klingon Dictionary.

I really meant to say Nostradamus...but I've been calling it the other way so long...that's just the way I wrote it.  You made very accurate prediction of the Vikings game...I wanted to give you kudos for that...sorry if I offended.

This is a BIG FAT BINGO!!!!!!

And it is not because of Favre.

Don't matter who would have been QB.

Haters hate!

Bet on that!
