Give me a freaking break marty.

They can't run on us.  End of story.

This is a game where under just about ANY scenario I see the Vikes winning, so they will probably LOSE. IF the officials get involved, I see nothing but them being biased with calls and non-calls in favor of Dallas in the 4th quarter.

Dallas 48
Minnesota 38

I'm starting to think along JCs lines in that it is time to go with TJACK. Favre is a big distraction to the team, and it is likely this situation has them all thinking he is a big phoney. He has lost the team, and the team has lost focus because of it.

I think TJACK would REALLY surprise if given a chance to start, it would be a fresh start for the team. While I don't think TJACK is likely to pull out a game in the clutch, I think he can lead the team to early leads and lopsided WINS. His athleticism can trump Chili's playcalling, with runs on 3rd down. I think, unlike Favre, TJACK WOULD connect with Berrian on deep routes because they have chemistry.

Besides connecting with Berrian, TJACK would also find the talents of Moss and Harvin to be quite something. And, IF TJACK played it close to the vest and went with Chili's playcalling, we might just see AD breaking more long TDs, as long as some deep pass connections are made on occasion.

Favre showed that it wouldn't take exceptional QBing to make this offense explode, just average QBing could do the trick. And TJACK is just that, average, and unlike Favre, TJACK is unlikely to turn the ball over at a high rate. A system QB that doesn't commit a lot of turnovers, and can make great plays once in a while, is EXACTLY what the team needs right now, and TJACK is exactly that. The criticisms of TJACK could well be invalid because they are based on too small of sample, at least I'm HOPING that is the case. [:)]

The answer at QB is obvious and staring us in the face right now. [:-]

Hey instead of all the [&:][&:][&:], let's see YOU guys have some balls (or gals have some ???) and make some predictions.

I probably should have cut that score in HALF, and went with Cowboys 24 Vikings 19, but I don't know how the Vikes will get 19 ?

I just think plenty of TDs will be scored. The Cowboys realize it will take a lot of points, and they won't let off the pedal. The Jets did run the ball on our D, and the Cowboys have a runner that can take it to the house. I think Romo will have one of his best days as a pro, threading passes in tight places, despite pretty good coverage. Favre or TJACK will try to answer, but I think they'll come up short.

Ian Joseph -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/16/2010 2:09:03 PM)

The Vikings will win 30-20.

Lynn G. -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/16/2010 3:03:03 PM)

I rarely try to predict final scores, but in the picks pool I have picked the Vikings to win and gave that pick the highest rating. [:D]

Rob Jorgenson -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/16/2010 5:36:59 PM)

I believe the Vikings will win this game going away. I think this crowd will be playoff loud especially with Moss being introduced. Randy is right - the dome will be bananas tomorrow. I think the team feeds off the energy and the score will be 30-16.

Lynn G. -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/16/2010 5:47:37 PM)

Are you going to be there Rob? Give an extra loud cheer for the rest of us.

Yes, I can't wait for this game!

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/17/2010 10:42:32 PM)

I guess when you cut it in half, like I said, 24-19 was pretty darn close ---- except I had the Cowgirls winning. [&:]

What I did NOT count on, was the refs in the VIKES' favor [:-]. Did a huge number of bettors read my posts and we ended up having more money bet on the Cowboys ?

I don't think the refs will favor the Vikes next week, although I don't think they really care for Rodgers. Hopefully Chris Cook is ready to go, otherwise Rodgers will have a field day with Sheppard, and Jennings (so similar to Harvin) can burn Winfield.

The problem with this years' game at Lambau, is I think the PACKERS will be the underdogs. The Packers are BETTER at the quick stuff, dump offs and screens to Jackson, than the Vikes are. The Vikes need to get screens down, and or, do more quick slants.

The game at Lambau would be a GREAT game for Randy Moss take over and dominate a game. The Pack can overly focus on Harvin, which will allow chances for Moss to burn them, over and over. [;)]

Steve Lentz -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/17/2010 10:59:22 PM)

The Packers will never overly focus on Harvin with Moss on the field.  Moss has a history of hurting them badly. Harvin is good enough when used right to get open against any team.

Thomas O. Eliason -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/17/2010 11:03:44 PM)

Well it's going to be a different game than any of our first 5.

The Packers will score on us, of that I am quite sure.

If we can't score at least 27 we will not win that game.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/17/2010 11:18:20 PM)

Next week is the game the local media in Wisconsin has talked about since last season. I think it's possible the Packers were looking ahead to next week while playing the Dolphins. [:D]

Unless the Vikes get some screens down, I think they might be in trouble. I think Capers is going to bring some HEAT !!! It's a bit of desperation, but I think it will be effective against the aging (but extremely TOUGH), QB, and a team that wants throw deep and doesn't seem to have any screens down.

What the Vikes won't have next week, is the officials on their side. GBs 2ndary is guaranteed to draw some flags, but they'll also get plenty of NON calls. I thought their 2ndary backed off a tad against Miami, and their timing was much closer with the ball getting there, then all the hits they were doing BEFORE the ball got their in their 4 previous games.

SCREENS, SCREENS, SCREENS !!! < I posted THAT around game 2 last year, and all of a sudden, there were some VERY effective screens to CTaylor. It opens EVERYTHING else up. Hopefully, the Vikes pickup on that THIS year, get those screens going !!!

thebigo -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/17/2010 11:35:25 PM)

Packers offense as usual has feasted against the Little Sisters of the Poor, and come up small against good defenses. pick pick pick

Vikes/Packers - Loser gets Bill Cowher as HC next year

I think the Packers are going to blitz heavy on defense, and go deep A LOT on offense.

Be READY for it Viking coaches.

Lynn G. -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/18/2010 9:32:22 PM)

If the Cowboys don't get him first.

I don't think Cowher would work under Jerry but stranger things have happened. The team's personnel seems to fit what Cowher would like to do.

Duane Sampson -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/19/2010 8:14:32 AM)

Please stop dreaming. We are stuck with Childress and doomed to waste our talented players' best years to the ego of a mediocre high school football mind.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/19/2010 10:13:36 AM)

I can see Jones pulling a Snyder and finally giving full control to his new coach.  Queue a record contract for Cowher.

I agree, Dallas has Cowher written all over. They need a disciplinarian (sp?), and he would be perfect. I think he'a a little overrated as a coach, but he'd be a good fit.

Jones won three Superbowls by meddling...
Snyder hasn't won diddly squat...
Al Davis still hasn't figured out that he sucks as a GM.  Jones has more recent success.  I doubt Jones can give up direct control.  Just not in his nature.

John Childress -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/19/2010 5:06:10 PM)

Jones didn't win 3 SBs by meddling. Jimmy Johnson built tha entire team. It was when Jones started meddling the team started losing.

You're saying Jones wasn't involved in the decision making process?  He has a tremendous ego.  It's a big reason that Jimmy Johnson LEFT, because Jerry couldn't control his ego and stop meddling.

Snyder has finally figured it ou to stay out of the football decisions and just sing the checks...The Redskins will be very good again in a couple years.

Jones and Davis are old School type owners that think they know better than battle hardened field Generals.  They're fools with big egos.

Prescott -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/20/2010 5:30:05 PM)

Jones destroyed a dynasty with his meddling. Jimmy Johnson left because of his meddling, and yet he had built a dynasty so incredibly strong that the addleheaded Barry Switzer even managed to coast to a title.

Johnson hated Jones' interference from the beginning, he just put up with him until he couldn't take it anymore. For the most part, Jones' meddling was about unhelpful things and had no impact, as Johnson kept him out of the important decisions. But once JJ left, Jones really did try to take a hand in the important things, and was a complete failure at it.

David Jerde -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/20/2010 5:43:26 PM)

Dallas built a dynasty on the backs of the bungling trade machine that was the Vikings management. Giving away so much for Hershel Walker set the Cowboys up with draft picks and players. Johnson was no more a genius than the next HC, but extremely fortunate to be in a position to coach a team with so many assets.
