I'm comfortable going with 13 with David.

I was one of the few comfortable calling for a playoff push last year as well.

Pretty sure David ran solo on that one.

Ian Joseph -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (6/1/2013 2:28:53 PM)

You know how Canadians get.. they always side with the winning team so that they can avoid conflict (and be conquered).

Rebuild resmild. Every player is going to feel better going forward if we challenge out of the gate but just "aren't there yet". I don't want to come out all meek and conservative. Shucks we're just a rebuilding team, excuse us. If we we're challengers and that meant AD would start out of the gate then he starts out of the gate.

Come out turtling and 6 wins is the high bar. Come out swinging and maybe 6 becomes 8 or 9 and we're in a bit of a race. Come out firing in 2013.

Todd M -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (6/1/2013 5:36:37 PM)

It was laughable for some to envision any sort of playoff push.

David was promoting an 8-8 season and people championed him, carried him around on their shoulders.

Where was my parade?

I had my lawn chair all parked and waited for days, my friend!
You never paraded by!
Good call my friend.
I love Canada.
It is our hat.

David also put his money where his mouth is. That's probably why he got so much love.

No offense, but I don't think many people remember your nor anyone else's statements, clamoring for a "possible" or "could-be if x, y and z occur" winning record / playoff push.

As far as your parade, you had it. It was just a parade of one, which isn't much fun. [;)]

Still can't believe the Vikings lost the Colts game.

Wow.. Parody reigns supreme in those. Interesting.

John Childress -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (8/1/2013 7:48:38 AM)

I had the same thought

The teams that are normally powerhouses I see falling off somewhat

I just can't see New England winning 12 games without Welker, Hernandez, and maybe Gronk

I probably rate atnaltA too low because I still hate them from 98

I don't believe in Houston

SF may be a little low but we have to see how that style of offense goes for a full year plus they had a key injury

Any team with a running QB has a huge variance in the number of wins. Maybe they win 15, maybe 6.

Because the Vikes depend so much on AD, and he has a significant risk of injury, their win range is also big. A team like Denver, which minimizes the risk to their key player, should have a narrower range.

In the playoffs, a team that takes risks with a running QB will be more likely to win the Superbowl. They'll also be more likely to lose their first game.

The super part is it has 28 more losses than wins....

Always love when they do that.

You mean like the San Francisco 49ers with Colin Kaepernick vs the Ravens Joe Flacco?  Wait...which QB won?

Huh...

I don't worry about balancing it out

I am not going to play each week

I did go through each time and did a rough estimate on Ws and Ls.

Someone should to a season predictor like you can do with the playoffs (if you really care that the totals balance)

Would love to see you guys post your predictions

My take on this is that both QBs had big arms

Eli, Rodgers - guys that can and do make all the throws on the field.

We need Ponder to become one of those guys.

That came across harsher than I intended, sorry. I don't like it when guys that get paid to make predictions are so far off, if you were just ballparking it, it's understandable. But it's impossible to work out like that and that's why it seems so close. You need to go through and add 14 win and subtract 14 losses, which will spread it out (or compact it, I suppose)

I'll toss up Viking predictions when we get closer to the season. Might have inspired me to do all the teams, idk.

I think you've got the NFC pretty close, although I can see one team falling off to 5 wins.

Thomas O. Eliason -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (8/1/2013 8:10:22 PM)

I always predict 19 - 0. Every single year.

Why break tradition ?

SoMnFan -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (8/1/2013 8:14:54 PM)

Hear that brother.
I've done the same thing myself.
PLAN on being undefeated every year (before it starts). Wouldn't play or coach if I didn't.
