Never been much of a Pats fan, and don't usually give a rip who wins the Super Bowl but I agree with Lynn here. The more I think about the behavior of Philly fans the more I hope Brady and the Pats run up the score and completely embarass them.

I don't actively root for the Patriots but I sure respect greatness.

I used to argue that BB made Tom Brady. Now I just believe they came together.

Jealous as **** but man what they've done is jaw dropping.

Kind of why I was joking about it
Can't believe people would wonder why one respects them
The ultimate winning machine. No matter how much hate piles up.
They get it done.

Lynn G. -> RE: Those Lying Cheating Pats (1/30/2018 8:14:43 AM)

I never wondered why people respect them. I have just wondered why people cheer for them.

Lets face it, a couple teams are always going to be playing longer than others. In every sport.
And I don't stop watching the games just because my team gets beat out early.
So I latch on to a team or two that are always there. I can't watch games without wanting one team to win.
The Pats were an easy choice to me, and yes, smartasses, all the way back to Tony Eason. and Steve Grogan, and Jim Plunkett.
Raiders before that. Yankees in baseball, when they aren't there, the Giants. Kings in hockey, when they aren't there, the Sharks. Lakers for many years, or the Spurs.
Its not that difficult of a concept imo. I'm going to watch, and I'm going to pull for one or the other. And after I watch one year after year after year I get attached to them.
Would love to watch my Minnesota teams chase championships right down to the bitter end of every year. There's a problem there tho, and I don't think it's MY fault.

Funny thing is Boston fans in any sport are not much better.

It's just that our fans who went to Philthy for the NFCCG got treated so badly by the Philthy fans...

All fan bases have knuckleheads, but the Philly fans are pretty much legend.

And for the other Scott (SoMNFan) - I guess I can see where you're coming from, but for me that's not how I watch championship games. Most of the time I really don't care who wins (and some of the times I don't even watch because of that lack of caring). If I DO care, it's usually because I'm cheering AGAINST a team, which means that the team I "want to win" really never earns a place in my heart securely because I'm not actively rooting for them.

I can't think of a time when I've ever had the experience you have - cheering for another team to win a game and then having that grow into being a fan of that team.

I am just as floored, to hear there are people who watch big games and do not choose a side to pull for.
Mind boggling to me.
Fun stuff that makes us all different.

What's in the water in Boston? Man, I have no desire to ever visit that city. I think I'll go to Fenway last on my goal of going to all the baseball stadiums.

On Friday, former Patriots tight end and a co-host of WEEI’s Ordway, Merloni & Fauria show, Christian Fauria was suspended after displaying an impressive lack of awareness during a sketch by doing a stereotypical impression of Brady’s agent Don Yee during a skit.

Fauria begins the skit by saying he’ll be Yee and begins speaking with an Asian accent. He then adds, “For me, I don’t know why, Don Yee sounds like an Asian guy,” while his co-hosts giggled. Nobody had the maturity or awareness to reel it in until his co-hosts pull up audio of the real Yee speaking.

WEEI later doubled down on their lack of self-awareness by posting the skit’s audio on their Twitter account before removing the audio link from their page.

Not only was the accent offensive and over top, Don Yee doesn’t even speak with a Chinese accent. Yee is of Chinese descent, but he’s also a US citizen who was born in Sacramento, California, not far from Fauria, attended UCLA for undergrad and earned his law degree at the University of Virginia. Fauria’s insistence on using a racist stereotype for the amusement of his listeners is entertainment for the lowest common denominator.

It’s almost as if the entire station is in a death pact to alienate themselves from Brady as much as possible. WEEI issued a statement afterward apologizing and announcing that Fauria has been suspended five days.

Playing to the deplorables.

Are they an official group now? Should it be the Deplorables?
