Of course, he also thinks Eli shouldn't play because Lorenzo's a good QB that can win in this league. Did he seriously say this? Wow, he's gotta be trying to get ESPN to fire him. They've shown they're not going to fire him for taking cell phone self-portraits for all the ladies in the office, so he's now trying to see if they'll get rid of him for zero football credibility! That was the other topic I listened to "Should Eli play". Steakers take was that if Eil was 100%, he should play, but if he's only 80 or 90 percent, no way, because Lorenzo is a good backup and can get the job done. He thinks that "maybe" the league should fine Cheatin Bill Belicheat $50k, but that other than a small fine, the league should just forget about it. He loves what the commish has done with suspending players, but you can't blame the cheater for just tyring to get ahead, and besides, it didn't make a single bit of difference anyway. Just forget about it and move on. He went through the whole scenario of what it would take to get the play calls stolen, how you'd have to get them into the players, how it would take at least 15 minutes.... he ended it with saying "If you can get all that done... well then (I swear he was going to say "then you deserve to get away with it" but thought better of it) you must walk on water!" Hello? Bueller??? According to you guys, Cheatin Bill Belicheat DOES walk on water. The other thing I love, is that the same guys who prattle on about how it didn't really affect the game, they were winning anyway, they would have won all those (ahem.. THREE POINT!) Super Bowls anyway, and you shouldn't really punish Cheatin Bill Belicheat for trying to get ahead.... these same knuckleheads then play the "If the Steelers, Jets, and Chargers knew this was going on, why didn't they say so earlier?" card. HELLO? Maybe because A) they didn't have proof and B) they assumed that if they made accusations without proof to back it up, people would argue that they're just whining, the Patriots would have beaten them anyway, and besides, what punishment would you give Bill anyway, it's not that big a deal. And they'd have been right, because ignoramuses are making that argument even when caught red-handed. Rumors of opponents headsets not working, of Cheatin Bill stealing the entire scripting, etc, have been around for a while now. The problem is that nothing covers up stink like winning, that the Patriots have a powerful, rich owner, that Bill B wields a lot of power himself, and that they have a popular, large fan base. Making accusations against them without proof would lead to people laughing at you, like they did at Denny for the Giant fiasco. But this is a much bigger deal now. Rumors of Cheatin Bill's antics had already reached the commish's ears, which is why he gave the warning. That Bill did it anyway, proves that he is an egomaniac that thinks he's above the rules, and that gaining this advantage is HUGE and a large factor in why they won so many close games. Mark my words, they may not be able to prove it, but Cheatin Bill Belicheat was stealing not just signs, coverages and formations from the defense, but they were trying to wiretap and get the opponents offensive plays as well. The reason this guy is the biggest paranoid freak with regards to this stuff is because he knows just how damaging, and how it can control the outcome of a game, if you have it. And he was determined to not let other teams get it, while doing everything in his power to get it for himself. The only question is, what will the league do about it, and will anyone care? The NFL is pretty much the teflon league, their players can use pdh's, kill people, and squeeze the fans for every buck, and no one cares. If a cheating scandal like this goes like the Sean Steakman's want it to, the NFL is truly untouchable.
