Dave E -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/24/2014 9:10:02 AM)

Was at the game yesterday. Thank god for Joey King stepping up late in the season.

Dre was awful (although he did bury one important three; amazing how he can crap the bed all game and then hit one big shot).

Agree, Sweens, Little Dre was up and down.

Eliason was big under the basket on the defensive end.

All told, ugly game. W is a w game, that's for sure.

Watched the game here in NC on Time Warner, ESPN2....looked like there were many empty seats in the old Barn!!

Have always wondered why we don't see more dunks by Eliason? Its just not in his repertoire, I guess....

Good win for the TEAM....another challenge on Tuesday, but would be a bigger challenge if they had to play on the road somewhere!

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/24/2014 9:28:06 AM)

I think I read that the Gophers were the #1 seed in the NIT. All their games will be at home until and if they make the final four. If they win there then they have the distinction of being #69.

Or maybe #65, since 64 teams made the dance!!

No, you're forgetting about the play in games to determine the #16 spots for each region.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/24/2014 11:36:04 AM)

Could be a huge recruiting tool. [8D]

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/24/2014 2:00:54 PM)

Were #69! WooooooHooooooo

Dave E -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/24/2014 2:40:50 PM)

That's how we roll, recruits. #69 all day.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/24/2014 2:44:43 PM)

Hey, it'll entice some of them .....

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 8:46:36 PM)

Finally Austin Hollins is heating up. Damn, we needed that or it looks like it was going to get ugly.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 8:54:35 PM)

My dad turned 69 yesterday. He's never been so happy to get another year older.

Nice to see Austin lighting it up.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 9:32:33 PM)

Gophers beginning to assert themselves and take control of the game, as they should against this undersized opponent.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 9:36:01 PM)

I like our chances to win it all. Here we come, New York!!

I'm calling Shenanigans on you being a Minnesotan. There was about 5 minutes left and you declared it a win already? You clearly are not a hoser [;)]

Dave E -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 9:59:05 PM)

Another nice game for Joey King.

Austin as well.

Not sure who the ESPN annoucers are tonight, but I can't think of a worse crew. They're atrocious.

Dave E -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 10:02:47 PM)

Matheiu, honestly. How do you let yourself get trapped that quickly? And then follow up with that miserable pass? Come on.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 10:04:51 PM)

Dre with the big TO that leads to a 3 pointer.

Dave E -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 10:07:00 PM)

Dre has been just awful lately.

Austin closes out his home career with the best game of his life. That's pretty sweet.

Dave E -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 10:08:45 PM)

Got to hand it to this team, they've closed out a fair amount of games this year on the free throw line.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (3/25/2014 10:12:01 PM)

Austin just had ice water in his veins at the line down the stretch. Best way to defeat the foul strategy is just make your damn free throws.

Was nice to see Hollins take charge in that game.

Dre is a mess. Eliason isn't doing anything to help the offense. King has surged.

I respect that too.
Got no time for teams who can't make FTs

Happy someone else was freaking out on that sequence.
Good God. That was ineptitude at its highest level.
Dribble into pressure. Throw it away BACK towards their basket. Sigh. Whatdya do with a guy like that .....

Yep. [&:]
I'm thinking we do like we did last time ... Stroll into NY, crush someone in the semis, get everyone in MN excited, and then get shit-canned in the Final.
THATs typical minnesota.
