A very odd end to that game. We did not try, refs gave them most of the calls. Unfortunate the game had to end that way. Would've liked to see it play out normally.

We were up by 10 or more most the game so I liked our chances.

Both our best players were not in there after the melee

It did get down to 3 at one point. We took it way too easy on them.

What stinks about this is how the media will act

Can’t figure out why these games aren’t on TV. Anyone know of a way to watch today’s game?

I found it on facebook, stupid place to have to watch it, but it's there.

https://www.facebook.com/StadiumCollegeBasketball/videos/780207395499352/?hc_location=ufi

That's where I watched it live last night. Don't even need a Facebook account to watch it, so no big deal. The streaming did lock up every now and then though.

I had a dream last night that my Little League baseball team had to play with only 4 players.

MURPHY EARNS THIRD STRAIGHT BIG TEN WEEKLY AWARD

For the third straight week, Minnesota junior forward Jordan Murphy has been selected the Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Murphy is the first player since Evan Turner of Ohio State to earn the award in three consecutive weeks. Turner did so in 2009, also in the first three weeks of the season. He is just the second Gopher to ever win the award three times in a single season, joining Quincy Lewis in the 1998-99 season.

WOW. A possible Naismith/Wooden award winner. A bit short for an NBA PF. Will college be his peak as a player?

Gophers fall to Miami. No McBrayer really hurt. Washington was a weakness and we had to play him to much. Hurt also hurt. Miami too quick, maybe some cheap fouls against us, we're good, but thin. Need to stay healthy and on the floor.

twinsfan -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (11/29/2017 11:38:24 PM)

Didn't see the game. Just watched highlights on B10 Network. Close but no cigar! Looked like a good game. We are legit. Miami is of course legit too. Both teams are serious Sweet 16 contenders.

Quincy Lewis actually won it 5 times that season.

Gotta win that one at home.
Another bubble burst.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (11/30/2017 8:19:39 AM)

Miami is a very good team who lived up to their rating. But yeah that would have been a great win to have on resume come tourney selection time.

Washington in his first start was terrible. He kept throwing up off balance, out of control, sloppy shots... And not surprisingly missed almost every one. Got to play with more discipline than that. This ain't a playground, this is big time college basketball.

I'm glad those shots didn't go in. A better teaching moment.

Phil Riewer -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (11/30/2017 8:22:23 AM)

He is one of the few that can get his shot off at any time. Surprised that the other Freshman Harris seemed so gun shy.

bstinger -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (11/30/2017 11:07:38 AM)

I thought Pitino was out coached there a little. When they were dribble penetrating us to death with the 4 guards why not play some zone?

Still, I think we win with a healthy McBrayer. Washington needs to settle down.

Lynn G. -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (11/30/2017 11:44:38 AM)

It's been fun to watch the progression of Richard Pitino as a coach. Pedigree can only take you so far. At some point you have to know what you're doing and be able to coach a variety of personalities and talent. Tubby Smith came in with some gravitas but never seemed to adapt to anything or anyone.

Go Gophers!

They can shoot too...hard to defend the 3 point shot with a zone.

Anyone can 'get their shot off' when it's just a wild launch. The hard part is getting your shot off in a manner where some of them will go in.

Well putting Hurt in to guard them man to man certainly wasn't the answer was it?

Trending nicely. [&:]

bstinger -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (12/3/2017 10:12:55 PM)

Took care of business and nobody got hurt. Good day. Need those starters to stay healthy, very thin.

SoMnFan -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (12/4/2017 7:57:22 AM)

22 point win
Looked dominant and very athletic.
Pretty solid squad, albeit thin ... as everyone points out.

David Levine -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (12/4/2017 10:41:39 AM)

Jordan Murphy: 12/14 from the line.

Absolutely huge to have a big that can actually hit FTs.

Also big that Lynch is controlling his foul issue....

Gophers at Nebraska tonight
Favored but I bet it will be tough
Still cannot believe that's Tim Miles when I watch the Huskers play.

So weird that Big 10 has conference games in early December.

bstinger -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (12/5/2017 8:41:40 PM)

Nebraska making us look bad early. Need a better plan on O. A foul call or two on them would hurt either.

bstinger -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (12/5/2017 8:48:51 PM)

Wow, these refs spell trouble.
