How did my explanation of Penn State turn out Matt? [&:]
Outside hockey watchers will say " gophers should beat a new team by twenty goals"
People who understand hockey know that every game will be close, no matter who did what when and where.
Every college team is filled with hungry athletes wanting to prove something.
Every year there will be huge numbers of unwanted kids who, if you slapped them together .... Could beat people nightly.
The difference between the best teams and the not-so-good teams is tiny. It's a tough gig.

Gophers win 3-2. Looked like a tough battle according to the story.

On a side note, trying to figure out the Gophers hockey schedule is now a pain. I sure preferred the days when I could just turn them on FSN every Friday and Saturday night at 7:00. No idea they were playing last night. And I assume it was on BTN? I have the same problem with Gophers hoops...never know when the next game is. So I guess it's just something I'll have to get used to.

When is the next Gophers hockey game? TV?

Edit: They play tonight at 6:00 on BTN.

Instead of ruining a college students whole weekend, now we will do what we do to BB players ... Take them away from even more class time.

I think I've missed, maybe, 5 games in 5 years. Had no idea that was on last night and I looked for them on the guide Friday night. I figured they had the weekend off again. No Strib mention either. really just odd situation all around.

The Big 10 network has made hoops watching more difficult and less enjoyable.  I'm sorry they're doing the same to hockey.

6:00 PM weekday starts, really?  It's even worse if you're actually attending and trying to get to Williams by game time.

Seriously, dude? Did you forget the Gophers were already ahead 1-0? It's 2-0 Gophers now. Makes you wonder if these announcers are even paying attention to the game situation when they speak.

After getting totally outplayed the 2nd period we score on our one good chance to make it 2-0 with a few minutes left in the period. This Penn State team is playing a good game.

He did say that, but I think it was more of a slip of the tongue because he has been saying the score throughout the broadcast.

That was an amazing stop he made on the short-handed breakaway by Penn State. I'll bet he tinkled just a little bit watching that guy coming.

These outdoor games at the Bank should be outstanding.
That stadium appears to be almost perfect for it.
We finally got one here. Should be a no-brainer to do a couple outdoor games every year here in MN.

Yes. And that's no joke. It was an f-ing embarrement to watch us play Penn freaking state last weekend. Their fans were so clueless it was hard to watch. From the singing the soccer chants, ohhhhing and awweeing as a shot went 14 feet wide.....it was just brutal.

Add on to that, the B10 network is a complete disaster. My coverege started 7 minutes in tot he game and it was already 1-0 Gophers.
