If I were in Vegas I would bet a crap load of money on the Gophers.

I honestly believe the Gophers will not only cover, not only win, but blow Iowa out. I never make homer predictions. In fact often just the opposite. So that's not what this is about. It's just my belief having watched them progress over the last few games last year and carried over this year, combined with Iowa's inconsistent play. And just many elements of the matchup that I believe favor the Gophers.

Gophers by at least two TD's, this will be a statement game.

Okay, I'm convinced. I have elevated that game to my "lock of the day".

Of course I will either be blaming you or thanking you later.

Bet the house.

I haven't been wrong since last Sunday when I thought the 49ers would blow out the Vikings.

I've been needling my Iowa boys about Ferentz the last few weeks.  Really hope this gives me more ammo.  Nearly $25 million owed to him through 2020!

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:25:17 AM)

This is not a good start. [X(]

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:26:11 AM)

Dumbest special teams play I've ever seen. What was he trying to accomplish blocking 1 of 6 Iowa players surrounding the ball?

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:26:22 AM)

Lucky.

That seems to be a call that could easily be blown.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:27:10 AM)

They got a massive break there. Should have been an Iowa TD.

Seriously. Either fair catch the ball or run away from it.

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:39:15 AM)

Better throw and that was a TD...

panndder -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:44:29 AM)

To say I'm not sold on Shortell would be an understatement. He's had so much time today, but has made almost exclusively bad throws. He missed an easy TD pass.

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:45:37 AM)

His accuracy has been atrocious.

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:49:29 AM)

Shredded by a 2nd string walk-on fullback...

panndder -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:51:20 AM)

Shortell is a pretty good backup and a pretty bad starter. I think the D is already tiring out.

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:54:25 AM)

Horrible decision to take that one out. Defense was almost on top of him before he left the EZ.

panndder -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 11:58:09 AM)

Welp.

Looks like blame. Barely a quarter in and this one is over.

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 12:12:00 PM)

Uglier and uglier.

Pete M. -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 12:14:45 PM)

Typical Gophers

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 12:20:25 PM)

Still love the helmets...

Wish the Vikings would copy them.

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 12:24:35 PM)

G SUS.

JT2 -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 12:58:29 PM)

This sucks

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 1:13:26 PM)

Shutout avoided...

Pete M. -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 1:40:01 PM)

Shortell is just not very good. And it doesn't help that we don't have many receivers who can go up and make plays.

Pete M. -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 2:03:38 PM)

These wide receivers are pathetic. They win no contested battles for balls, they're largely unathletic, and they drop the easy ones. An area of recruiting that HAS to improve.

Jim Frenette -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 2:04:26 PM)

Shortell having bad day, but his WR weren't getting seperation to help him either

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (9/29/2012 2:55:25 PM)

Just a shitty day all around. D sucked, ST's sucked, Dline got dominated all game and Shortell sucked. WTF do they have designed running plays for him?

Horrible game plan on both sides of the ball.
