Made it by plenty.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:25:33 PM)

What a KICK. Now we got to stop them.

MDK -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:25:37 PM)

Need a big stop on defense now

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:26:13 PM)

Going to be very hard to stop them as they can go for it on fourth down. Once again he could not have kicked that any more perfect.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:30:12 PM)

4th and 2, huge play. Right at the mark.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:31:09 PM)

Huge pick!

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:32:03 PM)

Thompson with the pick, obviously OK after the big hit earlier.

Steve Lentz -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:32:17 PM)

Kill's boys keep finding ways to win!

MDK -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:32:18 PM)

WOW

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:32:39 PM)

Hold on to the ball and salt this one away.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:33:32 PM)

OMG Wiziwig.TV just switched the game on me. I will now have to rely on the box score and commentary here.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:35:02 PM)

Awesome to hear about the pick. Now put this one away and put the ridiculous superstitious meaningless halftime history thing out of it's misery. If we lose it now though I might start to believe.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:35:14 PM)

Cobb with nice run, 2nd and short.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:36:11 PM)

3rd and one, clock moving under 2 mins

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:37:11 PM)

QB sneak for 1st down. 1:10 going, time to kneel. We win, streak broken!

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:37:41 PM)

Nice job boys!!!

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:38:37 PM)

Wow, what a back and forth game that was. Great to be on top, would've been a heartbreaker to lose.

Streak ended just as I expected. I won't mind if the other side of streak stays intact forever despite the fact that I put no, zero, nada, none zip credibility to it.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 2:44:39 PM)

Don't know if this win will put us into the top 25. We were a two TD favorite at home and won by one. Still it is a win and I will happily take it. Gophers have an opportunity to go to a nice bowl game this year. Shouldn't talk about it and jinx them though. So proud of Kill for putting faith in his kicker and team and sending them out for the long FG.

Jim Frenette -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 3:50:49 PM)

Great half time adjustments

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 4:02:04 PM)

Nice win. I was concerned going in about this game as one that might get away. Forget the pregame point spread. This Purdue team is not that bad. They've figured out some things offensively in the past couple of weeks.

This Gopher team is playing with some heart. That's the big difference this year. They're starting to believe.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 6:37:25 PM)

This game showed that these players have some of what Kill calls "havin some fight back in em."

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (10/18/2014 8:04:25 PM)

Heart attack game, but a lot of fun. Bowl eligible baby! [&:]

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/19/2014 11:21:44 AM)

Beat Nebraska, we win the West.

If it breaks right for Ohio State or Michigan State, and they crush us in the Big 10 Championship, they could be in the final playoff which would send us to the Rose Bowl.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (10/19/2014 9:41:18 PM)

As much as I'd like to see it, we are not currently a team deserving of a Rose Bowl appearance. I want a step up from the usual bowl, but I want a bowl opponent we can beat. Too big a bowl game will get us against a team with more speed than we can likely handle. We are among the best of the Big 10, but we are a far cry from among the best in the nation. Some success and some improved recruiting could continue to move the needle in the right direction, but we need to become a program that top athletes want to come to and that is quite a hurdle to overcome. Until we do, we can't be a program deserving of a top tier bowl game.
