The money comes from athletic boosters, alumni that support the football program. The money doesn't exist without football. The donors give it for this specific reason. That's just the way it is. And the power of sports.

Not a fan of the gold-on-gold

Low-balling that the alternate look cost at least $50 per player at 100 players, the U is so flush that there's nowhere else they could have used $5000 than on the forever sucking football program? I went the the U and unless things have changed considerably, I know there are buildings on the Mall that could use some work and a student or two that could stand some help with textbooks.

Come on, U of M. Embrace reality and stop spending so much money on a football program that will never be better than OK except in exceptional years where they might rocket up to pretty good.

How often does a team go 95 yards on a drive and doesn't score?
We're hanging tough with the help of the turnovers.

On the pass attempt to Williams it was pass interference again. He made contact before the ball got there. Fortunately we completed the fourth down play.

Absolutely true Twinfan. I appreciate your having your heart in the right place Bohumm but your comment was irrelevant.

People like to say "hey, don't waste my tax dollars on crap like that!" They used to say the same thing about Tubby Smith being the highest paid State employee. Well...not in reality. He is paid with booster money, not taxpayer money.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:26:31 PM)

That was a freaking amazing run by the SUPERB RB David Cobb. Very well blocked as well.

Corleone -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:27:07 PM)

Get a stop, D....we get the ball to start the 2nd half.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:27:54 PM)

Now keep this a tie game to the half. Don't give up any points here.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:28:57 PM)

That lost TO on the challenge could be huge.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:29:32 PM)

We fought back all the way to even ground! Now tighten up the defensive discipline and tackling.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:30:00 PM)

Great D on the bomb there.

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:30:43 PM)

Bending don't break. Go Gophers.

Corleone -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:30:55 PM)

I'm to the point where I pucker a little every time Barrett takes off running...

Corleone -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:31:39 PM)

Keep throwin' it, son....much less dangerous

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:31:47 PM)

kgdabom -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:34:22 PM)

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:34:46 PM)

That is B.S..WR had his hand on Murray's mask. Griese of course defends refs.

The Rodent -> RE: Gopher Football (11/15/2014 12:35:42 PM)
