It could be worse Doug. You could've been watching baseball in Cleveland tonight.

Yeah, quite a vacation you've got going Scott.

SoMnFan -> RE: Twins Glossary (8/12/2015 10:52:42 AM)

Four whole days around Battle Lake?
You take fifty such trips a year.
Had a great week with my wife, my boys, and their women.
Kind of a fact-gathering tour on the way up and back as well.
Sad to see how quickly the weather is changing. I love Fall, but hate what follows.

I hear you on the weather. It actually cooled off last night at the game. For some reason my wife decided not to bring a hoodie to the game. She brings hoodies to 90-degree day games "just in case." By the end of the 1st inning she was uncomfortably cold even though I'm sure it was over 75. May have been in the low 70s by the end of the game. So I guess compared to last week, that's considered cooling off. I swear she is the first one to get cold anywhere. I looked around when she first said she was cold and not a single other person had a sweatshirt on. Anyway, she needs to pack a hoodie from now on. No idea why she didn't last night.

SoMnFan -> RE: Twins Glossary (8/12/2015 11:21:40 AM)

Hear that.
Wife always has a parka along "just in case"
I wear shorts and tee shirts about 11 months.
Oldest son lives in GF and wears flannel shirts, barely owns a coat.
Hot blooded males I guess. [:D]

Move somewhere warm and you lose it quickly.

A few years ago on an NPR show (I think it was all things considered), they discussed an ad that appeared in the NY Times offering free property to people that moved to the town of Starkweather ND. They called the mayor to discuss this opportunity on the live show. They asked the mayor....doesn't it get cold in Starkweather. The mayor in a thick norwegian accent said, ya, it does get cold but dat wind.....that is the real problem. It can be 20 below in da winter but sunny and no wind and you can stand out in a shirt.....no jacket and be comfortable. The guys from the show calling the mayor were cracking up with laughter.

But anyone who has endured the cold with the wind can actually identify with the Mayor's assessment.

I'll bet the Twins Shop would have been happy to sell her one. [:D]

Yes, and she did mention that. I said "go for it," and my reverse psychology seemed to work. [;)]

Once again, same here.
Even offered to get her one.
She thought about it but declined as well.

That's awesome.
And per DLs comments ...
I've considered my climate here as the worst on the planet ... Since my son moved up DERE I've changed my tune.
When we visit, we simply shake like little wet puppies.
It's worse than here. Never thought I'd say that. My wife's clan is from around the Brainerd area, that climate is Missouri-like to me. It's all about the wind, baby. Only place where wind bites worse than here, is NoDak, IMO.

Humidity has a ton to do with it.

Living a couple years in E Montana, not far from Williston, the summers were hot, but mostly dryer air. So it wasn't that bad. Neither were the winters, for the most part. At least until it was 20 below.
