Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin may get his wish to be traded. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Wednesday the team is willing to listen to offers.

[image]http://a.espncdn.com/i/headshots/nfl/players/65/4512.jpg[/image] Boldin
Boldin has asked to be traded since last season after teammate Larry Fitzgerald received a four-year, $40 million contract. Boldin has two years remaining on the six-year, $33.99 million deal he signed in 2005. Though the team wants to give him an extension, the Cardinals aren't expected to give him a Fitzgerald-type deal.
Whisenhunt, speaking to Arizona reporters Wednesday, opened the door for the team to receive trade offers.
"Before the draft, you know there is going to be talk about Anquan and his situation and a trade," Whisenhunt said. "Since not a whole lot has changed with his contractual situation, we know that will come back. It would be foolish from out standpoint not to listen to those opportunities and see what actually exists. But I want to make the points -- our goal is to re-sign him to a long-term deal. That hasn't changed."

Boldin continues to bring up the idea of a trade. With contract talks at a standstill, the Cardinals can listen to offers before the draft. The Eagles and Giants might be at the top of the list.
Boldin is considered a No. 1 wide receiver so it could cost a No. 1 and No. 3 draft choice to acquire him.

Philadelphia is the natural landing spot for him.  And it would propel them into the SB just like when the 49ers stupidly traded Haley to the Cowboys.

John Madden stepping away from the booth.
Won't break my heart, but he is an icon.
The oddest thing about him mo, is why there was never the huge outcry to get him back on the sidelines.
The numbers don't lie ... he went out on top or close to it, and had the BEST winning pct in history of coaches who coached at least 100 games. And he was pretty young at the time.
I know he talked of burn-out at the time he stepped away from coaching, but they ALL come back at some point. He didn't.
It would be daily chat-board chatter if he tried that move nowadays.

1. Rumor was Al Davis was coaching half the time when he was there
2. The man who replaced him won more Super Bowls
3. In the early days he was very good at what he did

Madden's replacement in the booth with Al Michaels is Chris Collinsworth.  Dick Ebersol minced no words on that last night on an appearance of Keith Olbermann's nightly liberal version of the O'Reilly Factor.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (4/18/2009 9:11:21 AM)

Not a fan of Collinsworth at all.  I actually like Phil Simms

The whole MNF - Sunday night thing has been diluted so much in recent years that there is no longer one big game.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (4/18/2009 9:11:52 AM)

Eagles trade one of their 1st round picks for Peters so that makes them less likely to trade for Boldin.

I do too. Collinsworth is good but I agree that Simms is better. I like Boomer Esiason as well.

I wish that ESPN would drop Kornholer and Jaws and just put Simms with MT.

Although I think Al Michaels is still the best and a combo of him and Simms would be great.

Agreed

MNF has really screwed the real football fan the last decade with Korheiser, Rush, and Dennis Miller

I know I am old - I miss Curt Gowdy and Hank Stram!

Rush?

He didn't have anything to do with MNF.  He was on ESPN for half a season, until he showed his racist colors regarding Donovan McNabb.

Fantastic thoughts...but Simms is employed by CBS not NBC.  Collinsworth is good and was the heir apparent.

Boomer sucks ass in the booth...he is best off left where he is...in the studio.
In the booth he had a tendency to pick a favorite team and praise nearly everything they did and deride nearly everything the other team did.  Boomer does not belong in the booth.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (4/20/2009 11:36:23 AM)

Collinsworth is a jackass and was a no-talent jerk.  His holier than though attitude towards Moss turned my stomach.

As for Rush, he is a racist but his comments were not racist - they were just wrong.  He never said Blacks couldn't play QB as well, he said that the media was pumping up Black QBs as a sort of affirmative action deal.

Turns out, Donovan has put a lot of distance between himself and the rest of the famed class of 99 with Daunte being a distant 2nd.  Maybe Tim Couch and Cade McNown were the beneficiaries of good press?

He also said both Williams's should be suspended because they took something illegal.

I also can't stand his hollier attitude

Difference is Olbermann actually uses those pesky things called facts, [8D]where Bill O, just makes crap up. Next thing you will tell us that Rush is anything but an entertainer. [:o]

I know this belongs on the political thread, but it is an insult to Obermann to paint him as the liberal version of the O'Reilly brush. Yes Keith is Liberal, but he is responsible compared to The O'Reilly Factor on The Fair and Balanced Network[&o] (I always loved that one).[:'(]

Uh,  Olbermann is a liberal hack.  And I am liberal, who occasionally watches it.  I like his show, but I don't for a second believe that I am getting the full story.  As for Bill O'Reilly.  I have repeated on many a site called him what he is...the KING OF ALL HACKS.  It's amazing how much he gets wrong, how much he makes up, and how he refuses to ever admit that he was wrong even when the evidence it stacked a mile high that he is.

In style they are almost the same show, same format, same idea...one is liberal, one is conservative (though he claims to be a registered independent, though how you register for something that doesn't have an organization to register in is beyond me).

Summation...I like Olbermann, but you shouldn't assume you are getting ALL the facts on his show.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (4/20/2009 12:35:16 PM)

I agree with TrekMan on Olberman.  He is sometimes entertaining to listen to but some of his rants are a little over the top.

O"reilly is so bad though he just completely ignores facts.

FARGO

Collinsworth is a true fraud, hate listening to him.  I am sure he was calling out all his Bengals teammates on steroids.  Heck, one them was high on coke!

Jake Carlson -> RE: NFL News (4/20/2009 12:40:58 PM)

Personally, I can't stand Olberman and find him to be one of the most annoying people on TV.  He and Dan Patrick were pretty entertaining early on but Olberman has been on a downhill slide ever since he left ESPN. Early on, Countdown was a decent watch, but he has become so incredibly arrogant that I can't watch him in anything, including NBC's NFL coverage.  His pompous, condescending style of talking at you combined with his air of omniscience makes him nails on a chalkboard to me.

...and even with all that, he's still head and shoulders above the King of all Hacks...Bill O'Reilly.

Jake Carlson -> RE: NFL News (4/20/2009 12:55:11 PM)

Not so sure about that, but I do know the best part about O'reilly is that he's very easy to ignore.  On the other hand, Olberman is invading my football viewing!  Keep both of these schmucks in their little bubbles to spew their nonsense and keep them away from my entertainment!!

David Levine -> RE: NFL News (4/20/2009 12:59:48 PM)

I miss the Keith Olberman/Dan Patrick pairing on SportsCenter. It was so much better back then with them and people like Charlie Steiner, John Saunders and Craig Kilbourn.

I agree with you Todd.

That's kind of a good feeling....being agreed with.

How bout that Star Trek movie? I'm back to thinking it will be the it movie this summer - can't wait!!!

The only think I worry about is being stuck with a bunch of talky talkers. I can't keep my cool - I'm sure I've enjoyed movies less than I should because of it.
