I should add Clark in there as well - but then again Clark was hurt in the Pats game also so that proves the original point; add a healthy Harrison and Clark into that game and the Colts win.

I was on the VY train as well, but he's just not that good this year. Yes, WRs help but one cannot solely put the blame on them. I'm putting him in the wait and see category. However, if he keeps this type of performance up next year, he's flirting with being called a poor man's Mike Vick.

Brady & Gay Respond to Criticisms Wed Nov 21, 2007 The Boston Globe reports in separate radio interviews yesterday, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and CB Randall Gay responded to criticisms that the Patriots are running up the score. Brady, in his weekly interview on WEEI, responded passionately when asked if the starters are staying in too long. "We're still trying to make improvements and we're trying to play extremely well," he said. "We're not trying to win 42-28, we're trying to kill people, we're trying to blow them out if we can. You want to build momentum for each week, you don't want to be up, 42-7 or 35-7, and all of a sudden you look up and it's 35-21. We don't want to be part of that, you don't want to go into next week realizing that for the last 18 minutes of the game your team didn't play well, or didn't play up to its capabilities. You gave other teams momentum for the next time they play you, or you gave another team a reason not to be intimidated." Gay, on ESPN Radio's "Game Night" program, said, "It kind of makes me mad when you hear somebody from the other team's defense going, 'They shouldn't have done that; that's disrespect.' Do we think it's disrespect when they went and picked up their checks for letting a team score 50 points on them? That should be disrespect; that you went to your owner and said, 'All right, pay me for that game I just played.' You can't look at it like that. You have to go out there and do your best. If somebody is blowing you out, you have to play harder. You have to stop them."

Comcast Sends NFL Network Cease-And-Desist Letter Tue Nov 20, 2007 AP reports Comcast, the nation's largest cable company, has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the NFL Network demanding the channel's representatives stop encouraging fans to leave the cable provider. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, the outspoken chairman of the league's NFL Network committee, has urged customers of Comcast and other large cable providers who don't carry the network on a basic tier to switch to satellite or other cable services that do. The channel's iwantnflnetwork.com Web site includes a box titled "MAKE THE SWITCH." Above a field to enter a zip code, the text reads, "Switch to a TV provider that will bring you NFL Network, not hold you hostage." The letter, dated Monday, contends that such actions violate the contract between the network and Comcast. The two sides have gone to court over their agreement. The NFL Network sued Comcast after the cable provider decided to move the channel from its basic digital tier to a premium sports tier that customers must pay extra to receive. In May, Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Bernard J. Fried ruled in favor of Comcast. The network has appealed. The letter requests that the network confirm in writing by the close of business Friday that it has halted its efforts to influence customers. The network, launched in 2003 to provide 24-hour coverage of the league, began airing live games late last season. This year's eight-game package kicks off Thursday night with a matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons. The network is available in about 35 million of the nation's more than 111 homes with televisions, which Jones conceded is far fewer than he hoped it would reach by this point.

I really don't get Bellichik. I mean, would it kill the guy to act a little, ya know, humble and "nice," maybe smile a bit now and then. He's so serious and glum. God, you'd think only someone who never won would be in such a bad mood all the time. Ya know, if the guy just took a page from Tony Dungy's book, he'd weather all this criticism a lot better. But I guess he really and truly doesn't give a rat's ass what anyone thinks of him. He doesn't realize that this is exactly why some people dislike him so much. I dunno...he's obviously a good coach but he's such a rude creep and so arrogant. Man, even a hard ass like Lombardi smiled now and then.

WRT Belichick, do you know him? I'll admit he may appear to be "serious" and "glum" but how do you know that's how he really is? The answer is that you don't know. None of us do. Millions of people thought O.J. Simpson was a great guy. Unless you know 'em, you don't know 'em.

His running up the score is strictly opinion. Your solution of instructing players to illegally and intentionally taking Brady out is ILLEGAL, and has absolutely no place in organized sports on any level. You'd have a hard time finding one single player that would intentionally and illegally take out a fellow player because they were beat by more than YOU think they should have been.

I seem to recall a playoff game where the Bills were down by 32 points in the second half, good thing the Oilers didn't want to run up the score. They lost. Indy down 35-14 to Tampa with less than 4 minutes left in the game. Good thing Tampa didn't want to run up the score. They lost too. Maybe you could petition the league to institute a new rule that states you can only win by a certain margin. Seriously, I'd like to know what you think is an acceptable margin of victory???

I'm criticizing how he appears, not how he is. He is a head coach in the most popular professional sport in this country. There is a responsibility to that job...and a level of professionalism that SHOULD be maintained. Yeah, I'm old fashioned. I miss the days of coaches wearing suits and ties. Belichick dresses like a slob and, strictly IMO, he's a disgrace to the profesison in that regard. His curt manners and lack of civility to players and other coaches and his apparent disdain for others is not befitting someone who is supposed to be the visible leader of his team. Feel free to disagree with me as I admit these are my personal and highly subjective feelings. BUt I was indoctrinated into the NFL during the Lombardi, Stramm, Halas and Landry era. I don't expect coaches to look like business men any more, as much as I wish they would, but this dressing like you're a high school gym teacher is insulting, and I include Mike McCarthy in that criticism, if you want to know the truth. Bravo to Jack Del Rio for bringing some class back to the job.

I don't care about the Patriots playing hard. They should do that. The going for it on 4th down when the game is out of hand is low class. Bill B and his wandering winkie is low class as well. So is cheating. And the only reason Bill is trying to do this is because he got caught. He didn't used to go for it on every 4th down. Hiding behind "we're just playing hard" is a crock. It is a childish reaction to being caught cheating, that is as plain as day. That's fine, the Patriots should go ahead and run up the score, go for it on 4th down with a 35 point lead, steal signals, whatever they want. They haven't won a Super Bowl yet, and I'm a big believer in what goes around comes around.

The Patriots are acting like they've won something already, and the whole team has taken on Bill's paranoia Payback is a beyatch, and the rest of the league will hopefully remember this. I would love to see Brady get LEGALLY nailed in the ribs trying to run up the score. Karma usually takes people down when they get this arrogant.
