Dustin - agree 100% on Palmer. (See, we don't always argue! :lol: ) I think if some team is willing to pay a huge price for him, he'll flourish with a lesser set of WRs. He's a guy who seriously needs a change of scenery, a la Dillion. Call me crazy, but I don't think that the Packers matchup all that poorly against the Pats right now. On defense, the physical corners we have play right into the weaknesses of the NE WR set and we can generate a solid pass rush without blitzing. On offense, we can rush the ball effectively and with our WRs and TE, we can really take advantage of the middle of the field on NE. I believe that we can keep up with NE scoring and that the defense can slow them down enough. Granted, the Dallas game wasn't pretty, but now that Woodson, Collins and KGB are back, the defense is a better unit. I may just be drunk on the green and gold Kool-Aid though.

He's in a terrible situation. Coach Marvin Lewis has lost control of his team. Chad Johnson calls the shots....sorry Coach Lewis....you CALL THE SHOTS! Palmer has got skills. He's the best USC QB since........Pat Haden....Paul McDonald.....Matt Leinart.....Ellie Mae Botty.....Carson is a very good QB!

Inside word from some very knowledgeable Bengal fan friends of mine is that teams are taking away the deep outside throws, making Carson beat them with throws over the middle...........which they say he's not been nearly as effective at.

You can't both take away the deep outs/corners and stack the box. Both require safety help.

I remember when Jaws or someone did an expose on him and showed that some crazy number like 65% of his deep completions were outside the numbers. Since that time his QB rating and production has not been the same. This year he is only two slots above Daunte Culpepper at #17. Overall, this year he has 10 TDs to 3 INTS outside the numbers and 11 TDs and 12 INTs inside the numbers. 47% of his throws are outside the numbers so teams are apparently forcing him inside. last year it was 54%. I would imagine a new coach will be there next year. I can't imagine Marvin Lewis, Chad Johnson, and chris Henry call coming back next year. Heck, all 3 could be gone as the Bengals try to go Brad Childress! GREEN BAY I don't think that they match up well at all with New England. While they do have Kampman and KGB (if healthy) to cause havoc for Brady, Al Harris can't guard Moss and I don't think Woodson at this stage of his career has the consistent quickness to mark Stallworth and Welker. On the other side of the ball Assante Samuel is not going to make the mistakes other CBs have against the young guns you have. And the Pats will hold on to some of those Favre prayers. The key for GB in that game is staying patient and keep running the ball. If Favre tries to win the game with big plays it would get ugly quickly. First you have to beat Dallas...in Dallas.

So much pressure has been put on the passing game and they have been trying to do too much. The defense has played better recently but I believe they need to shore up their O-Line.

Palmer has had top notch offensive talent around him his whole career. I would like to see him QB the 05-06 Vikings or 07 Titans before I call him great.

I am so tired of hearing about how Brady and the Pats were slighted by the "guarantee". 10 minutes of ESPN GARBAGE If I was a coach and any player I had DIDN'T say that we were going to win would be cut! Man, I can't stand the Pats and the worship.

And to add to that John - has anyone heard the soundbytes from Tom Brady on the radio Monday morning. He basically made fun of Smith and his guarantee and talked about Smith being a guy who is only in the game because of injury and he shouldn't be talking. The whole thing was completely classless on Brady's part, and the fact that he's still talking about it is so unprofessional. He has deteriorated into an extremely unlikeable doink.

This isn't the first time he has appeared arrogant. He is good as a QB but he can be a real prick sometimes.

Alright enough Tommy bashing, you know I know a guy who is his cousin and I can't join in because all I know about him is he is as great a guy as he is a quarterback. I love that he loves my guy Moss. Let's make fun of someone new! Tim, I think Brady USED to be a great guy and a humble guy, etc. - but fame and fortune has definitely run up his ego. It happens to the best of them, and he's not immune to the constant attention and adoration and lauding.

Like I say, total gossip. Merriman is a crying baby, but to me, LT's answer was pretty good. I read it as saying it was a good, tough play, but that the rules have changed so much that plays like that always get questioned as dirty. player speak for "i don't want to throw my teammate under the bus, but let's stop talking about it an play". I like LT, I think he's a cool dude. He definitely let Marty get into his head, crying about it, but all of a sudden here they are with a winning record and possibly heading into the playoffs with a chance to win a game. Something they never did and never would with Cockingheimer.

Brady is a jerk He HAS become full of himself. You saw him run down field and start jawing with the defenders. More to the point, his comments on Smith were incredible. So what if a "3rd string safety who is only playing because of injury" wants to get himself pumped up. That is even more reason for you to ignore his comments. This is not the famed Phil Simms versus Ronnie Lott showdown. Brady is so arrogant that he "takes offense" at anyone else not worshipping him. Can't wait until they lose

Arkansas will pay him $3M a year and that is more then Miles at LSU

Petrino is a SCUMBAG He didn't even look his players in the face and tell them. He spent 15 seconds telling his assistant coaches. What a clown. Time to stop hiring these college coaches because they are gutless like Saban. I am sure there is one or two who will stick it out like Jimmy Johnson but lately they are complete failures. Petrino's players called him classless and they are dead on.
