Being that 85 isn't Ocho Cinco in any language on earth....it looks pretty silly above 85.

Oh, come on, it isn't that bad. It is like saying "5""O" for fifty. Like I am not looking forward to turning the big "5" "O".

I think it would be good humor if Cincy traded him to a team that already had a player wearing 85 and wasn't about to give it up. How stupid would "Ocho Cinco" look above 82?!

He would probably eat it up. I can hear him now, I may wear number 82 but I am still "Ocho Cinco" . He would make statements like "They are going to need a bunch of backs to cover 82 and ocho cinco". "So good, it's like there's two of me out there". I don't think I could take it. Let's hope he keeps 85.

Easy E -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 3:15:08 PM)

Players talking about themselves constantly? Very annoying.

Players constantly talking about themselves in the third person? Highly annoying.

Player continually refering to themselves in the numerical third person? Truly annoying.

Player advertising their constant third-person-numerical reference of themselve on NFL liscenced apparel?

Pricelss.

It's not, true.  When told about it he was embarrassed.  It wasn't intentional.

Kind of like when Dan Patrick used to say "El Fuego"

He then tried to say it the right way, but it doesn't have the same ring. I still say El Fuego now, it just sounds cool. [:D]

On the Ocho man, I think it's a much better idea for him to chance his name to "THE FIVE-O". I like that a lot! Plaster that above his number.

And the good news is PacMan, I mean Adam, would have a hard time covering him..

(you know.. running away from him... yeah, I'm dumb)

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 5:04:21 PM)

I don't know about the rest of y'all .... but
I'm Ready For Some Football
I'm happy they are spreading out this opening weekend ... great to see as many games as we can.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 8:10:00 PM)

Skins look terrible and the Giants look good (if they can convert  FG's in to TD's).  The only reason it's even a game is because the Skins had a nice KO return and then a phantom face mask penalty.

BTW- this new 15 yarder, no matter what, sucks ass.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 8:10:57 PM)

Also,  Brandon Jacobs is a beast.  Sorry Caddy but he bitch slapped your boy Landry in the 1st half [:-]

Eli Manning started off well but now is starting to look like the ELi we know

Chris Olson -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 8:24:24 PM)

Smoot is the most fragile player ever..I am so glad he is no longer a Viking...

No offense to little girls, but he plays like one...

Chris Olson -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 8:25:51 PM)

you are so right John...

that INT was classic Eli...he is sailing passes on guys now

John Childress -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 8:40:19 PM)

Not impressed with either team but Wash just doesn't look ready for the season at all.

Chris Olson -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 8:56:40 PM)

Washington doesn't look like an NFL team at all...

I don't think the Giant's D is that great...the Skins helped them out

Not nearly as good a game as I hoped for.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/4/2008 8:58:17 PM)

Yeap, you guys are both right.  When I posted my "analysis" the Giants were looking good.  Since then, they've been poo-poo too.

John Childress -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/6/2008 1:43:02 PM)

Some guys are BORN hurt:

quote:

Jaguars receiver Jerry Porter was ruled out of Sunday's season opener at Tennessee because of a hamstring injury.
Porter, who signed a lucrative contract to be the team's No. 1 receiver during the offseason, had surgery to repair a torn hamstring a week before training camp. He missed all of camp and the preseason, but returned to practice Monday and had hoped to be back for the opener.
But Porter missed portions of practice Thursday and Friday, making coach Jack Del Rio's decision to hold him out another week an easy one.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/7/2008 1:26:56 AM)

Big day is here.
Wish the Vikes were playing.

My picks for the season ...
NE enjoys the easy schedule and wins the AFC
Dallas enjoys all the attention and wins the NFC
Adrian Peterson wins the NFC MVP award
Tom Brady wins the AFC MVP award
Buffalo is the surprise team in the AFC (in a good way)
New Orleans has a great year in the NFC
Miami will be horrible again, as will Detroit

I don't think there is a conference MVP...

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:NFL News (9/7/2008 2:01:13 AM)

It's new... I'm giving it out this year. [;)]
Guess I should have just said ....
Who do you think the  best player will be in the AFC/NFC?
