I was thinking Packers would win by just a little but over the Cowboys, and even thought the officiating would go about how it did.

I thought the officiating favored the Cowboys on the 1st half (except they let Matthews hit Prescott as he went into a slide), Packers in the 2nd half.

The key play was a play where the Packers were backed up, Rodgers was sacked and easily could have been flagged for intentional grounding. Instead they picked up a cheesy late hit to the QB which changed the momentum. After that, the Cowboys seemed a little tentative to go after Rodgers.

The Cowboys looked pretty vulnerable against the run, and Rodgers did throw a great pass to Adams.

I hope the Packers get all the calls in the first half, and the Vikes keep it close. If that is the case, they might just favor the Vikes at crunch time.

What I expect is the official are neutral the first half, or biased in favor of the Vikings. They will do just enough to make it likey the Vikes are a little ahead in the3rd and most of the 4th quarter, but will sway things near the end of the game to make it likely the Packers win in a close one.

Well Aaron Rodgers is likely done for the year. I wonder if he wanted to be injured?

I think we'll find the 2017 Packers are more dependant on one player than any team in recent memory. With Rogers they were a contender. Without him, they'll struggle to win three more games. They're just not very good.

And that's on management that the team is constructed that way, by the way. If I'm a GM, and I have any inkling that our time is now, a top priority is to make sure I have the best backup QB in the NFL. It's just too much risk to be one freak play away from throwing away a season. You can't have that kind of dropoff.

LaDanian Tomlinson said it on Gameday Prime last night...Rodgers out of this world play covered up a lot of holes on that team. Now those holes particularly on the Oline are going to be exposed.

Yep. A competent backup is very valuable. and the way Case Keenum is playing is proving that. Without him we would have been screwed.

The loss of Rodgers definitely changes their team, but their upcoming schedule appears a bit forgiving. I wouldn't count them out of it yet. They're hosting NO this week, and while the Saints put up a ton of points on DET, a bunch of those came from defensive returns. The Saints also tend to play much better at home or at least on turf than they do outdoors on grass. Even with all their injuries, and their back-up QB, this is a winnable game for them. After that they've got a bye week, which should help get some injured players back and give them a chance to give the QB more time to work with the first string. After that they host the Lions who look rather vulnerable after that shellacking by the Saints. Then they have a trip to Chicago, which is an improving team, but still the bottom of the division before returning home to host the Ravens who seem to be struggling this year. Thus, it seems plausible that they could come out of their next 5 weeks without a loss, improving their record to 8-2 and setting themselves up for a possible playoff run. Their final 6 games feature a few very winnable match-ups (TB, @CLE, @DET), and some tougher games (@PIT, @CAR, MIN), but they could certainly finish those out 3-3 and end up with an 11-5 mark which is probably good enough for a WC if not the Division.

Rodgers tried to get a free play late against the Panthers. The Panthers starred to bite, but were disciplined and didn't encroach, despite 2 Packers moving, which the refs didn't notice. But Rodgers did pick up the first down the next play (4th down) on a very good fake, where Rodgers kept it and ran wide.

I am surprised at some who think the Vikes will go into Lambeau and win by several TDs. The Packers played Carolina just like the Vikes did, losing narrowly.

The game is at Green Bay, and Rodgers made plenty of throws against Carolina, and may have won the game if the inexperienced WR didn't get stripped of the ball. Some people don't understand the game with the Vikes will be a revenge game for Rodgers. Even if Atlanta wins tomorrow, Rodgers (and maybe a long with a little help from the officials) are likely going to give the Vikes all they can handle.

If the Packers were smart they would shut Rodgers down for the season, but I don't think they're that smart. Testosterone will take over what the brain cells should be doing.

It wont be hormonal at all, It will be all ego driven.

I think if the Falcons win tonight they will be eliminated from playoff contention. At that point McCarthy and Thompson should be smart, step in, bench his holiness, and let him heal for next season.

But I think you're right. His Holiness will want to play "spoiler".

There were a couple of posters on the game day thread that made it sound like they expected an easy win for the Vikings next week. How foolish.

No matter what the record of both teams is---the games are always close. Who are you cheering for Marty is the bigger question...

The bad news is that I will be in Green Bay with all of the in-laws when that game is played. Oh jolly, what fun.

On the upside, the outcome of the game doesn't matter with regard to winning the division. On the downside, I have to watch the game with an entire household of Packer fans. [:-]

He's out, and Davis is suspended for Carolina's last 2 games.

All good ideas, peeps, about wearing a Barr jersey and rubbing their noses in it. BUT - I have to keep seeing these people a couple of times a year! [:-]

And quite honestly, one of the reasons I never dish out smack talk is because I am very thin skinned about receiving it. And I also believe it all comes back to haunt you - so if I were to be a pill about this year's situation, I think Karma would remember that.
