The said it had to do with the impetus of the defense and that as long as Rodgers had one foot on the playing field, it didn't matter that the rest of his entire body was in the endzone. Kind of hokey - but I guess that's the rule.

With some teams the rule is that the ball must come out of the end zone.  [;)]

I think the Vikes will probably come up short this year, as New Orleans goes all the way, but you never know.

I also think Favre will be back next for the Vikes.  He'll retire and miss camp again, and then come back again.

Kampman

but he just didn't take to the position switch too well and frankly, I think he mentally didn't want to do it and therefore hasn't taken to it like he should have.  JMO.

I think Kampman wants out of GB, and wants to play for the Vikes next year.  And I think he WILL.

It's just like Favre didn't really want to be with the Jets.  So he played well early in the season to show that he could still play.  Then his subconscious mind allowed himself to be injured and he played poorly to get out of NY.  He also kept playing to keep his streak alive, he is proud of that, and should be.

Al used to be all palsy walsy on the strib board and then go to his Packer board and quote people from here and talk about what a bunch of rubes we are. He was playing us.

I did not know that.-in best Johnny Carson voice.[&:]

Thanks for the response Craig, I guess those top picks haven't been bad, although Harrel was a half around to a round too soon. You are right though the other picks are better than I thought. Although I would rather have had Vernon Davis(now for sure, at the time I was relieved just because Farve would made him better sooner).

I am Sorry Craig I am not laughing at you or your team bro ! I am laughing cause I know EXACTLY how you feel I am a Met and Knick fan !!!

But if this makes you feel any better the NBA season started what 1 and 1/2 weeks ago and their season is way longer with way more games than the NFL's and their season is already over !!!

Know what I have to look forward to the exciting prospect of clearing cap space to see if a 15 to 20 win team can possibly lure a LeBron James or Dwayne Wade to the Garden , good luck with that !

The worst part about it is the Great Isiah Thomas traded our 1st rd pick unprotected for ****ING Starbury the human cancer !!!

So don't feel to bad bro !

marty -> RE: The Packers (11/12/2009 9:02:43 PM)

Is Favre having a BETTER year than his 2007 year with the Packers after 8 games ?  Can someone get the stats ? [sm=shrug.gif]

I think perhaps Mike McCarthy is starting to feel the heat and letting it get to him:

Rodgers is 10-14 for his career.

I'm with Craig this week !

Lynn G. -> RE: The Packers (11/13/2009 7:15:18 PM)

I agree. Beat the Cowboys!

Cheesehead Craig -> RE: The Packers (11/15/2009 10:32:50 PM)

Huge win vs the Cowboys 17-7

The defense was lights out and Charles Woodson is simply too much of a stud for mere words. Def POY in my book.

Rodgers was much better today in looking to make plays more quickly. There were much more shorter routes and he made some huge plays on 3rd downs to keep the drives moving. Big props for him today.

5-4 is a solid record for this team and now they need to keep things rolling vs SF next week.

marty -> RE: The Packers (11/15/2009 11:09:24 PM)

No, they need to LOSE to SF next week [;)].

I had the feeling Dallas really didn't care that much from the start of the game.  They must have had an emotional hangover from the win the week before.  I think the Packers were fortunate the Cowboys won the week before, or I think the Cowboys would have come out smokin' and probably would have beaten the Pack.

Because Dallas is simply walking away with the division and really didn't need yesterday's game. [&o]

Jake Carlson -> RE: The Packers (11/16/2009 1:07:13 PM)

As I was watching the GB-Dal game I kept wondering how I could be watching the same game as Aikman but seeing it completely differently. He kept praising the defenses as if they were both playing complete shut-down, impenetrable D. I thought the D's played well but more than anything it felt like a pre-season game where the offenses aren't clicking yet and are still a ways behind the D. There were plays that could have been made on both sides but neither QB took advantage.
With all of the bonehead offensive penalties, dropped balls, and overall tight offensive play it was more sloppy offense than great defensive display, IMO.

marty -> RE: The Packers (11/16/2009 9:27:12 PM)

Craig

I'm just saying it's hard to beat what will probably be a playoff team, possible division winner if they're coming off a loss.  In fact, I think the Packers might have beat the Vikes, had the Vikes won at Pittsburgh the week before.

I'm not sure the Pack are a playoff team, they have a pretty good shot.  They have the 49ers at home, but if the 49ers win, THEY could win the final playoff spot.  Philly and NY have played 1 less division game, could finish ahead of the Pack with better divisional record.

Tim Cady -> RE: The Packers (11/17/2009 7:59:19 AM)

Woodson Def POY[sm=rollinglaugh.gif] Ever hear of about 30 other players?[;)]

I have always enjoyed your sense of humor Craig.

The San Fran game depends on how well the SF offense can control time of Possession. If they get a lead and Gore is going good and Alex Smith doesn't have to do too much Green Bay will have a long day.

hrerikl -> RE: The Packers (11/17/2009 9:53:30 PM)

More bad PR for GB on the personnel front.
Offhand remark to coach gets Packers employee sacked

Well, Woodson has already won a Def POTM for September and he won DEF POTW for his performance on Sunday.  So my statement's really not all that far fetched.

I think Smith is going to have to beat us with his arm.  The run defense has been very good this year (#4 in yds allowed, #3 in yds/rush) so I don't think they can rely on Gore to wear down the defense.

It's all going to come down to protecting the QB.  If the Packers can give Rodgers some time (ok stop laughing), and get the heat like they did vs Romo we'll do well.

Guest -> RE: The Packers (11/21/2009 3:08:23 PM)

What would be the best scenario is the Packers lose out from now until the end of the season.  Craig is a pretty classy guy but 98% of all Packer fans are HATERS!  They think they are "owed" something every year....They are rude, obnoxious, and just plain mean......I grew up most of my life in Wisconsin and would always watch the Packers with some interest.....never wanted them to lose unless they were playing the Vikings.....now, because of these less than human's who call themselves Packer fans and Wisconsinites have completely flipped the switch....I absolutly HATE the Packers and can no longer ever seeing myself give them, or thier fans any respect!  (Sorry Grandpa)

Lynn G. -> RE: The Packers (11/21/2009 3:54:25 PM)

[:D] I love the "Sorry Grandpa" at the end.

I think one of the things that bugs me most about Packer fans is that out of one side of their mouth they'll tell you that they're the best fans in the NFL and are courteous hosts to visiting fans at Lambeau - but out of the other side of their mouth they get almost breathless spewing their disdain for fans of just about every other team, with Chicago, Minnesota and Philly always at the top of the list.

The truth is that they're just like all other fan bases. They're nothing special, even though they will argue until they're blue in the face that they are.

Having said that - my in-laws are nice people and happen to be Packer fans. I just don't talk much football with them. [;)]

Guest -> RE: The Packers (11/21/2009 10:16:46 PM)

I could go see a Viking gae in almost any other stadium.....I would never take that "Risk" in Green Bay!
