Some heads today are saying FSU made their own errors, and they did, but the first two turnovers were conscious efforts to strip the ball. Oregon saw things on film and wanted to take advantage of them.

That freshman RB is talented, but his ball security is pathetic.

Ohio State impresses me the most. To have that many injuries (w/QB's no less) and keep on trucking' w/ a third string QB to the National Championship Game is just bananas.

I was beyond happy w/ the major bowl games. Boise knocks off a number 10 team (I was getting nervous towards the end) and the Evil Empires of Florida State and Alabama go down.

I loved Meyer's response at the podium when he found out how badly Oregon laid the boot to FSU.

No doubt. I guess I get the hate of success in general, but I really have a tough time seeing how anyone can dislike Meyer and/or Saban. Class all the way, and their career track records are ridiculously good. Plus, all class. Those two are not just a notch, but several notches above the next best coach in their sport IMO.

Might wanna check how many starters Oregon has lost since the start of the year.... It's ugly Dave.

But yeah losing not one, but two QB's and making to the Championship game is unbelievable.

Hell of a game.
A buddy of mine who owns a bar hosted a private party...$25 all you can eat and drink.

UGh, I feel terrible, but I'm going to Dallas next week to see it in person.

Oregon 51
Ohio State 27

Must of been awesome Murf!

At the start I got visions of the Auburn game, but then they did what they do.... Fast break football at its best!

Bring em good luck in Big D.......

I'm thinking your pace will kill them eventually
Won't bother me one bit.... [:D]

Watching the Alamo Bowl...

K St. WR Lockett looked really good. He's only 5'10", 175, though. I think he'll make some team happy as a slot WR and punt returner.

I was watching the game to see Kendricks, LB at UCLA. Made a lot of plays, but I wasn't impressed at his ability to take on blockers.

UCLA fared well in a mostly KState venue tonight.

bohumm -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/2/2015 10:45:36 PM)

I amend my earlier indictment of the Big 12 not playing defense to say almost no college defense can keep up with the offenses. If you didn't score 40 in your bowl game, you're a bitch. Weird season, but perhaps the current wave.

It's true.
Imagine the NFL in 10 years if/when they finally embrace it fully and adjust their game to the players coming up instead of vice versa.

The Ducks (13-1) will face the Buckeyes (13-1) in the first FBS championship game on Jan. 12 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Oregon and Ohio State met in the inaugural NCAA basketball tournament championship in 1939, where the Tall Firs of Oregon, as they were known for their tall front court, won 46-33.

I think that score sounds about right for Jan. 12.

Go Ducks!

I like the over confidence of these Ducks fans. Just because the Ducks are due for the title doesn't mean it will happen. Oregon hasn't faced a team that is as athletic and physical as OSU, FSU is athletic and somewhat physical, but they're also very turn over prone and that was evident on Thursday. OSU haven't the ball over that much at all.

We shall see, there will be points and the Buckeyes have struggled some against running QBs. Another week and a half for Meyer to prepare will be big for the Bucks as well.

McMurfy -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/3/2015 2:51:35 PM)

I'm not sure I'd call it over confidence.
I'd say a lot of us are excited, really like our team, and think we have a good chance of winning.

Oregon forced five of those turnovers, they did not just happen, except for maybe the Winston fumble.

They did and Oregon does have the highest TO differential in the Nation. But I don't think they obliterated FSU, the FSU players were fumbling after gashing the Ducks for 15 yd gains. It's not like they were all over Winston or were smacking their WRs or RBs, they just happened to make some plays on the ball while Cook was careless.

Ian Joseph -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/3/2015 3:41:33 PM)

Oregon games just look like you got steamrolled becuz they just take maximum advantage of momentum. You look down and up again and theyre winning by 20.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/3/2015 3:47:27 PM)

it'll be a lot closer than most Duck fans are thinking for one reason, IMO. Urban Meyer.

Ian Joseph -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/3/2015 4:01:28 PM)

Oregon played real tight in the NCG against Auburn.. I'm curious how they will come out on this one.. I do know they are and have been a second half team.. If they have the lead at halftime, its over.

I believe they were close with UCLA until they exploded. Then we had the Rose Bowl to ourselves huh bro?

I think the Ducks win but it should be a good game. Maybe not USC/Tex but still a really good matchup.

I had never been on the 50 yard line there until that day.

I was at that damn game. Don't remind me. [:@]

Nate -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (1/4/2015 3:10:59 PM)

The question for me is will Oregon play that same crappy defense they did against FS. They can't count on lots of TOs every game, that's like playing to block a short FG for the win. The times where bama put pressure on Cardale, he looked like a third stringer. When he had some time, he did real well. If the Ducks rush three all game, meh, then it comes down to whether OSU can slow down the track meet.

Either way, not having either Alabama or FS in the championship game is the ultimate win, time for someone else to win this thing.
