The Orioles have interest in Red Sox outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, a source tells Rob Bradford of WEEI.com (via Twitter). Nothing is remotely imminent on that front but the O’s view the slugger as a good potential fit.

Twins should get involved in this. RH slugger at TField works well. Then you deal Arcia.

I didn't know the Red Sox were shopping Cespedes.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/10/2014 2:28:41 PM)

Must be because they signed Hanley Ramirez, huh?

From the scrap heap to 6 mill/year.

Way to go Neshek

9:51am: Neshek receives a $12.5MM guarantee over two years, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports on Twitter.

8:39am: After adding Luke Gregerson this morning, the Astros have reached a deal with fellow right-handed reliever Pat Neshek.

Neshek's a dick. I went on his website a few years ago. I sent Pat a private message ripping Gardenhire for abusing bullpen arms. And what does Neshek do? He banned me! Jerk. I was polite and complimentary to him, but I ripped Gardenhire so he banned me! Unbelievable. I've hated him ever since. I stood up and cheered when he gave up that game winning HR in the playoffs. Looks like he got the last laugh with that ridiculous contract the Houston Idiots gave him.

3:02pm: One team that had been in discussions on Miley has dropped out, believing a deal to be nearing between the Diamondbacks and Red Sox, Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com tweets.

3:21pm: The Marlins and Rangers are out on Miley, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, leaving the Red Sox as the likely suitor unless another team has jumped in.

3:40pm: The Red Sox are indeed nearing a deal to acquire Miley, Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports on Twitter.

3:46pm: The Red Sox are actually not involved at all in discussions on Miley, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports on Twitter.

The Dodgers have acquired shortstop Jimmy Rollins from the Phillies, CSN Philly’s Jim Salisbury reports, hearing from an industry source that the transaction is a “done deal.”

4:20pm: The trade is “close” but isn’t yet completely finalized, FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal tweets. The teams haven’t worked out which players will be in the deal and a third team could possibly be involved.

Rumors swirling that the Nats are about to move Bryce Harper in a trade.

Dodgers getting Kendrick. Adding McCarty on a CHEAPER deal than Nolasco's.

Whatever...McCarthy of 2014 is not as good as Nolasco of 2013. Ervin Santana and Nolasco have also had similar careers. Santana's 2012 was similar to Nolasco's 2014. Brandon McCarthy in AZ LAST YEAR was right with Ricky's numbers. All three of these guys are HORRIBLE signings for four years. Horrible.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/11/2014 9:00:11 AM)

8:55am: The Tigers and Red Sox have agreed to a deal that will send outfielder Yoenis Cespedes to Detroit in return for starter Rick Porcello, C.J. Nitkowski of FOX Sports and MLB Network reports on Twitter. Indeed, Detroit is closing in on a deal involving Cespedes and Porcello as well as another trade, Jon Morosi of FOX Sports tweets. Detroit will also receive minor league pitching in the deal, per another Morosi tweet.

Yesterday the rumor was that he was heading to Balt

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/11/2014 10:17:34 AM)

The Padres will pay Kemp $15MM per season, meaning that Los Angeles is on the hook for about $32MM of what remains on the deal, tweets Heyman.

Jeff Allen -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/11/2014 11:01:30 AM)

Lots of activity again today...Terry Ryan is sitting on his hands -- again.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (12/11/2014 11:04:20 AM)

Masterson signs with the Red Sox.

Kendrys Morales 3-year deal w/ Kansas City. Ouch! [&:][&:] How is he getting 3 years?

CORRECTION: The Morales deal is 2 years, $17 million.

And why would KC take him if they just got rid of Butler??

I saw Dayton Moore on MLB Network last night. He admitted he regrets letting Butler go. If he knew then what he knows now about where the market is, he would have paid Butler the $12 million option.

They must not have much in the system for bats coming that someone couldn't DH.

Man, I like Vargas and Arcia but why didn't we work a trade and get some pitching. I don't care if it is in the same division.

Oh wow. Yeah, compared to all the other numbers out there, that is pretty cheap. I guess his poor season hurt him more than I imagined it would.

Back to the Red Sox where he started. A one year deal.........what's the risk?

Instead, we gave two years to Pelfrey coming off an injured season. At least Masterson was one season removed from an all star year. When did Pelfrey ever have a strong season.

2005. Wichita State.

At least the Twins got Alexander Graham Bell, err JR Graham. TR may as well go hoe now. He made his one big move for pitching.
