Red Sox sign Porcello
Four years $82.5 mil

That's mind boggling.

15-13 last year is worth 20 mill/year

unreal.

Btw, Trout is ridiculous.
Makes the difficult things to do, seem easy.
Where would the Twins have him right now? AA?

About right.

Would need more seasoning.

Such a stinkin' joke.

For once Gleeman called them out on it, for keeping mediocre guys rather than actually build for a future.

They have no clue how to do it.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/7/2015 2:38:51 PM)

Kendrys Morales walked 3 times and scored twice in #Royals 10-1 win over CWS. He walked six times in 39 games with #MNTwins in 2014.

Love how the Orioles piece things together.
They have some smart people making personnel decisions.

IIRC one of those people also built a two time champion here in MN.

No ...... Whaaaa?

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/8/2015 9:55:02 AM)

Btw ... Matty ...
Did you see the dust-up between your buddy Moustakos and the Cubs!
Methinks I wasn't the only one gagging at that guys reactions last postseason.

Rick Porcello has thrown over 1,000 big league innings, and is just 372 days older than Alex Meyer

LOS ANGELES -- Adrian Gonzalez set an MLB record by clubbing five home runs in the Los Angeles Dodgers' first three games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Gonzalez, who had gone 3-for-5 with a home run in each of the Dodgers' first two games against the San Diego Padres, homered in his first three at-bats against Andrew Cashner Wednesday night in the series finale.

It's the first three-homer game of the 32-year-old first baseman's career. His RBI single in the sixth inning -- his 10th hit of the series -- gave the Dodgers a 7-4 lead.

Gonzalez, who grew up in San Diego, has always hit well against the Padres, one of his former teams. He came into Wednesday with a .328 average and 10 home runs in 49 games entering Wednesday.

Each of Gonzalez's home runs Wednesday was a solo shot. He led the major leagues with 116 RBIs in 2014. Until Wednesday, no National League hitter had had three hits in his first three games since Orlando Cepeda in 1963.

Gonzalez almost has as many RBIs (7) as we do hits (9) wow what and offence.

Didn't see it, but whatever he did I'm sure the Cubs deserved it. [:D]

Stacey King -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/9/2015 1:57:11 PM)

The Mets will pay Matt Harvey $614,125 this season.
They will also pay Bobby Bonilla $1,193,248 on July 1 of this season.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/9/2015 2:16:59 PM)

The Nats perfect season isn't starting very well.
Matt Harvey is one hell of a talent for the Mets.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/9/2015 2:46:29 PM)

Wow the Nats are as desperate as us.
Pumping season tickets now, so you can get AS ticks in '18.
Good lord. I don't plan on living past next month. Will there be baseball in three years?
Lay off the expresso people.

Sorry, meant the Whities
He and Smardzjisizajki set a MLB record for "most combined letters in guys names who hate each other"

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/9/2015 3:29:37 PM)

The Indians Bauer with a no-no thru 6
Unfortunately he's at at Liriano-like 111 pitches. [:D]

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/9/2015 3:40:35 PM)

Papelbohn endearing himself to fans again.
Claims he's a Red Sock and will always be a Red Sock
Yeah, douche, they miss you greatly.
You took the money. Shut up. For the millionth time.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/9/2015 3:42:11 PM)

Going to have to be a combined no-no in Houston
Bauer yanked.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/9/2015 9:23:04 PM)

Giants and Pads locked into a 0-0 battle in the 11th. Been flipping between this game and the college hockey game. Kimbrel got a couple big outs for the Pads in the Top of the 9th. Giants had runners on 1st and 3rd with nobody out. Huge K and a DP got them out of it.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/9/2015 9:24:16 PM)

Gave up a HR in the 9th, right? I think I saw that scroll by.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (4/11/2015 12:36:30 AM)

Unreal ... the Yanks/Bosox game that started at 6 ... is STILL going on
18 innings
Outlasted all the west coast games.

Ortiz with a big homer in the 16th, answered by Tex in the bottom

8 or 9 at-bats for each team so far
Bosox just took the lead in the top of 18

Timmy Lincecum back in the Giants rotation and pitched a gem tonight, but still fell to the Pads 1-0
