Today's BAL/TOR game is the 11th in the last 100 years where both SP recorded exactly 4 outs. Last: MIN/TEX 1996.

Starters in that game? Minnesota Travis Miller, Texas Roger Pavlik

Still think Betts is going to be a star. Bogaerts too.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (6/22/2015 10:51:25 AM)

Most HR through 70 team games .....

1959 Harmon Killebrew 26
1970 Johnny Bench 25
2015 Bryce Harper 24
1998 Alex Rodriguez 24
1929 Mel Ott 23

Love Harpers homer spray chart ....

24 evenly spaced around the entire outfield.
Freakish.
Line to line.

WTF??

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/report--former-mlb-player-darryl-hamilton-dead-in-apparent-murder-suicide-165035530.html

Darryl Hamilton, an ex-baseball player who was working as an MLB Network analyst, is dead after an apparent murder-suicide at his Houston-area home, the Houston Chronicle is reporting.

The bodies of Hamilton and Monica Jordan, with whom Hamilton had a young child, were found Sunday and publicly indentified Monday.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (6/22/2015 1:29:30 PM)

Police said officers were sent to the home on an emergency call about a disturbance. When they arrived, they found the body of Darryl Hamilton, 50, near the front entry way. The body of Monica Jordan, 44, was found in another part of the home.

Investigators said it appeared Hamilton had been shot more than once and Jordan died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police said the couple's 14-month-old child was also found unharmed in the home. The infant was turned over to the state's Child Protective Services.

Woman went nuts.

New documents obtained by Outside the Lines indicate Rose bet extensively on baseball -- and on the Reds -- as he racked up the last hits of a record-smashing career in 1986.

Royals starting pitchers are 25th in ERA and 30th in innings pitched & QS.
They lead the AL Central by 3.5 games.

But the bullpen probably ranks at the top,or very close.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (6/22/2015 10:22:50 PM)

Val .323, now 20 RBI

Cowbell .347/26 RBI

Jays will simply try to out-slug you. Works well enough to go 4 over .500 with a win tonight.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (6/22/2015 11:01:22 PM)

Check those guys stats every night.
Loving it.
Good dudes. Glad they're ripping it up.

CowBell even made a dandy running catch at a big time last night.

OTD: Piersall hits HR, runs backward

On June 23, 1963, Mets OF Jimmy Piersall hit his 100th career home run in his 13th season in the big leagues, and he promptly circled the bases while running backward -- a milestone celebration, indeed.

Crazy Stat of Day: Albert Pujols 15 HR since May 28th are more than the Braves (14), Mariners (14), and Indians (13).

I've watched PooHoles a couple times in the past couple years, and thought ... this guy is done.

Big deal. This issue is not even on the radar IMO compared to the Roids era. Put Pete in the Hall where he belongs. NOW!

He Gambled when more than 70 years before a group of guys that got involved with gamblers got banned for life. He knew what he was doing. He knew the consequences.
As a player he deserves enshrinement. but he ****ed that up for himself by betting.

Shoeless Joe Jackson has yet to be enshrined, even though he did NOT participate in throwing the WS. Rose will be long dead before they come around on enshrining him.

For the plethora of Yankee fans in here, Brett Gardner finally warmed up. Nearly .600 Slg for the month of June.

Plays his park really well.

Very pleased the Yanks aren't fading.
Much better season than most anticipated so far.
