So Todd Frazier got hurt in last night's game, and Hawk Harrelson said "I'm going down there to check on him." So he did. [&:]

In somewhat unsurprising news, Glen Perkins told Mackey & Judd that he was the worst hitter on his high school team.

Does it surprise you.....he is the worst pitcher on the Twins.[&:]
So of course he would be a bad hitter as well.

The top pitcher when not pitching probably plays shortstop......hits for average and power.....and can run. Probably the QB on the football team and a very good BB player as well.

Most of the time. The other 10% are these stud all-everything catchers who go to the majors and become superstars [:D]

Yup. Just like John Ryan Murphy.

I want his baseball card.

Aaron Hicks is not looking particularly good in this game vs the Royals tonight.

Matt, is that Nick Blackturd in your avatar?

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (5/13/2016 9:06:17 AM)

Cody Anderson, Indians

Billed as a breakout candidate going into the season, Anderson has instead had a breakdown -- a 7.31 ERA in six appearances. Not good.
Interestingly, though, batters are hitting .423 off Anderson on batted balls with an average exit velocity of 85 mph or below, which Statcastâ„¢ tells us is by far the highest among all pitchers who have induced at least 25 batted balls below 85 mph. The league hits just .226 on such balls.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (5/13/2016 9:10:55 AM)

Anthony Rendon, Nationals

His average exit velocity, per Statcastâ„¢, is 92.6 mph, with an average launch angle of 15.1. Baseball Savant's sortable breakdown tells us that balls off the bat at 92 or 93 mph with launch angles between 15 and 16 degrees are going for a .707 average.
Rendon is batting just .226.

Yes, I felt like changing things up.

I was trying to find my Gardy/BP avatar, but couldn't find. I know I have it somewhere!...at least I better.

I kinda long for the days of Slowey, Blackturd, Baker. The three amigos, the "young arms". They were the three adorned studs of TR that were supposed to take the Twins to the promised land.

Ahhhh, I long for those days. At least you could target a particular player that was pissing you off. With this Twins team, you can't really get pissed off at any of the players because we all know the problem is rooted from the top.

Bautista got what he deserved, imo

Odor with a heavy weight punch if I ever saw one. Is he getting fined and suspended for this action I assume?

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (5/16/2016 9:56:59 AM)

That punch shoulda been thrown shortly after the bat flip
Bautista took a helluva punch and stayed up
Loved how Beltre ended it. By far the meanest animal on the field, he simply said that's enough and everyone listened. [:D]

Strong, that Beltre. Awesome right by Odor. Joey bats finally gets one. Deserved after all those others? probably.

Huge bad blood.

Tho i wonder how much the bat flip has to be a "showing up" and has to be policed.

Some of this little stuff the boys need to grow up and get over.

So that slide by Batista, which would have been considered "run of the mill" and perfectly clean, is now a dirty slide. Thanks MLB. I've seen no less than 50,000 slides worse than Batista's slide in my lifetime. Absolutely hate that you can't make any attempt to disrupt a double play anymore.

The play itself was perfect, on both ends.
Odor hung on the bag like you should
Joey Bats went thru him like you should
Odor tried to send the throw right thru his eye level like you should
Grew up making that play and did it until I was 50
Nothing wrong with that play, at any level IMO.

Jackie Bradley a pretty good barometer of what to look forward to, or at least hope for ....from Buxton.
Bradley came up, sucked hard, and every Red Sox fan wanted him gone.
Not just demoted, but traded. Boston held firm, worked on him and his game most of last year, this year he is back and huge for them.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (5/16/2016 1:47:19 PM)

Which is, in part, why the kids the Twins think need to play, should.
Because Boston took some lumps, and they're much better this year.
