Each teams most underrated player

Minnesota Twins -- Brian Dozier, 2B. Maybe the problem with all these second basemen in the AL is that there are too many good second basemen. Dozier started off slowly, but has been crushing the ball lately and he's up to 23 home runs with a slugging percentage over .500.

Ahemmmm.

All started when he stopped being so stubborn and started going to right field once in awhile. [;)]

That's actually true. Dozier is very, very good at recognizing his pitch and putting a charge into it. Now that he isn't falling into the rut of pulling pitches on the outside corner to SS and 3B, he is seeing his pitch a little more often.

The stream of vitriol spewed his way was way out of line but make no mistake, it will return should he slump.
I Think he's a hell of a ballplayer,

Bruno did his job.
Too bad his work on Buxton hasn't brought similar results.

Cubs reliever Pedro Strop has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus, the club announced (via Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, Twitter links). He’ll undergo surgery tomorrow, with the expectation that he could be back within four to six weeks.

Under the circumstances, that’s largely a positive outcome for the Cubs, who likely would have lost Strop for the year had he suffered a more significant knee injury. As things stand, he’ll seemingly be back in time for the end of the regular season. Righty Justin Grimm will be recalled to take Strop’s place on the roster for the time being.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/11/2016 4:10:48 PM)

Outfielder Jeff Francoeur and right-hander Jim Johnson were both placed on revocable trade waivers by the Braves this week, reports Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, though their placements had very different outcomes. Francoeur cleared waivers and is now free to be traded to any team, whereas Johnson was claimed off waivers and ultimately pulled back after a trade could not be worked out.

1:30pm: MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro tweets that a pursuit of Rodriguez is largely dependent on how long Miami expects first baseman Justin Bour to remain on the disabled list. Bour has been out since July 6 with an ankle sprain.

12:41pm: The Marlins have at least had some internal discussions about signing Alex Rodriguez once he is formally released by the Yankees this weekend

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2016 11:32:21 AM)

The Cardinals will explore the possibility of adding recently designated center fielder Carlos Gomez, per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (on Twitter). According to Goold, they’ll try to ascertain the reasons for his sudden decline and determine whether they believe he can rediscover his form and help the 2016 club. Adding onto that, Goold said in an appearance on the Ryan Kelley Morning Show on 105.7 FM / 920 AM in St. Louis that the Cards have “legitimate curiosity” in Gomez and were intrigued by him even before last night, when left fielder Matt Holliday suffered a fractured thumb that could cost him much of the remaining season.

The Yankees announced today that right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who left his most recent start after one inning due to an elbow issue, has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a “right elbow tendon injury.” Fellow righty Luis Severino has been recalled from Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes/Barre to take his spot on the roster.

Whoa ...... Hunter Pence may have out-kicked his coverage by a larger distance than any kicker in history. [:-]

And I like Hunter. But whoa dude.

I Think he's a hell of a ballplayer,

He was terrible for five months. Worse than terrible. Putrid. Even his staunchest defenders couldn't defend him anymore. It was a combination of stubborn refusal to adjust, and wilting under the pressure of increased team expectations. That's why it was frustrating. Because we all knew the talent was there, but the problem was between his ears.

It was like he woke up one day in July 2015 and realized the games were meaningful........and he fell apart. Maybe I got a tad carried away with my criticism. I will say I'm happy for him and the team that he came out of it. Sure could have used him in April when the team was in a free fall.

I can't wait for them to fall apart in the playoffs. After watching that Bartman documentary I can't cheer for Chicago anymore.

EVERY team has veterans road-blocking young players.

And now Aaron Judge just homered in his first MLB at-bat. Back-to-back. The new era of Yankees baseball has begun with a bang.

Elias Sports Bureau has confirmed that Yankees' Tyler Austin and Aaron Judge are the first pair of teammates in MLB history to hit back-to-back home runs in their first MLB at-bats

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
Papelbohn being an ass? Whaaaaaaaaaaa?
Since when?

Nats ace Max Scherzer on how Jonathan Papelbon handled being replaced by new closer Mark Melancon: "He was going to suck it up and accept his role...unfortunately some things went sideways and some other ways."

papschmear asked for his release today, btw ..... classy to the end

TOTAL POS

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/13/2016 3:11:44 PM)

Yadier Molina reached an impressive, if unheralded, milestone Friday. He caught his 100th game of the season. Only seven players in major-league history have caught 100 games or more in 12 straight seasons, as Molina has, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The others are A.J. Pierzynski, Brad Ausmus, Johnny Bench, Bill Dickey, Tony Pena and Gary Carter. Good company.

Some excitement for the future. Bird back in the mix next season too.

Mid-August, and Aaron Hicks with his first stolen base of the season.

Atleast we raped the Yankees for him.

Derek Jeter returns to Yankee Stadium and receives a huge ovation when he's introduced at the Yankees 1996 World Series 20th anniversary ceremony.

Damn-near brought the house down ...
Probably the best team I ever followed closely
