I think my theory about players allowing themselves to get hurt has plenty of support this year, like it does any year. In Cleveland, you have Hoyer looking great, then getting knocked out for the year. He is a hero, and if you arrange the letters in his last name, you get hero. Remember what I said about players feeling unappreciated allowing themselves to get hurt ? Calvin Johnson might have figured the Lions would once again lose at GB, and Reggie Bush seemed to be getting a lot of the credit for the Lions' early success, while CJ, who has worked his tail off for many years for them, was just chopped liver. In case anybody was forgetting Megatron is needed to make the offense click, he ends up out for the Packers game. If only the Lions had had Megatron, then they would have beat the Packers, right ? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe they would have also lost, but right now he is the hero, the player that it is thought likely would made a difference. Being out, showed that he was important to the team, brought his value back into awareness. Julio Jones on what appears to be Falcons team headed for disaster, jumps ship, allows himself to be injured and out for the year. I could give a lot more examples, but I leave at these for now.
