Maybe the players don't feel appreciated enough in REA? Perhaps a few million more in locker room and lounge renovations would help.

I'm sure UND will crush us tonight. Hope not. Vowing not to sweat it too much if they do. Looking forward to seeing that BSU line of brothers tonight. I wonder if they'll ever tinker with that?

SMF, is this a legit strategy? I personally think this guy is stretching for excuses:

Bemidjii seemed to have what almost looked like a strategy of having their guys falling down as a way to neutralize our forcheck. If they had position on the puck but were being challenged by our forchecker they were falling all the time. This seemed to be effective in that it was causing our guy to layoff his persuit of the puck to avoid a penalty and the guy laying on the ice was an obstacle in the way of him getting to the puck. It just looked a little fishy to me...

Found some good stuff in the Fire Hak thread:

Maybe a better way to say it is the team takes the ice and thinks they are the better team (which is ok for the right reasons) because of all the trappings that surround them. Does the team still eat at Squires? Do the freshmen live in Walsh Hall? Do they chew their own food? Who wipes their butts? Maybe some players are seeing the current game / season / program as a step on the developmental ladder and this infects the others. Did the other team want it more last night? I only know the answer to the last question.

That is awesome. I have tears in my eyes reading it! The absolute "kiss of death" in hockey is to leave your feet. ESPECIALLY in your own zone.

Sue are up 1-0 after the first. UND got the better of the chances as the Beavers spent a lot of time in the box. Definitely looks like Hakstol may have had a discussion with his boys after last night.

Yes, but I mostly missed the 1st period because of the length of the ALCS game and then I watched some of the postgame. Will mostly be watching BSU hockey the rest of the way, but am also fascinated by this SABR-friendly broadcast of the NLCS game on FS1. Rob Neyer is there. Pretty cool.
