Tough loss. We were up 2-1 with less than a minute left in regulation. Ferris State pulled the goalie and scored with 45 seconds left to tie it up. Painful.

Alright
I've f-ing had it.
Watching Mankato and Bowling Green in the WChA tourney in Grand Rapids
Are you f-ing kidding me
There's a hundred people there
Did no one go to the WCHA tourney in the past?
Did no one see how much fun that was?
How the freaking huge Xcel was sold out and rocking?
Who the F would make these dumb changes?
I quietly watched this shit all change. Can't sit quietly anymore.

Seeing the sparse crowds at the X yesterday, all the fun was taken out with the conference money-grab.

It's pathetic
My sons sitting in an empty arena at Target Center
My buddy is sitting in an empty arena in St. Paul
And four people I don't know are sitting in an empty rink in Grand Rapids Michigan

Moronic money grubbing morons, these organizers .... Arghhhhhhhh

SoMnFan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/21/2014 2:17:49 PM)

Boy, this Bowling Green just makes my blood boil!

Wait ... I didn't realize they had a team
Nevermind

Stupid

Ouch. That kind of hurts my argument that the WCHA is any great shakes. I guess I still like it. Not quite like before. But not bad. It certainly helps I have a team that interests me in the league.

twinsfan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/22/2014 10:57:14 AM)

Sue lost. Let's look on the bright side.

Looking at the pairwise, looks like it will be a stretch for the Sue to get in the tourney. What do you guys think?

SoMnFan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/22/2014 10:57:57 AM)

Doesn't ruin your argument Matt
This morning I agree
WChA was/is better. No-brainer.

Determining factor? BULLSHIT!

Go Ohio State! Go Mankato State! Limit those extra at-larges to lock the Sue out!!!

Let me guess. Mankato State, a team that's similar to UND in the pairwise, HAS to win their conference tourney to get in.

SoMnFan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/22/2014 11:26:14 AM)

Of course.
Mankato has always been excremented on.
Yeah
I said it.

drew -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/22/2014 1:21:45 PM)

Is Mankato going to drop that far just by losing to Ferris St.? They are #11, and Ferris is #4. They shouldn't be punished that much. I have always found it interesting in NCAA hockey how they select teams. They're supposed to just follow the Pairwise, but some funny business happens sometimes, right SMF???

Keeping the Sue out of the tourney would be a thing of beauty. Getting 2 in the nWCHA wouldn't be bad, would it Matt? Gotta get our Beavers back there soon.

twinsfan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/23/2014 1:37:36 AM)

Mankato wins. I guess that takes some of the drama out for them. Although I completely trust SMF when he says they woulda been left out of the tourney if they hadn't won.

There's no way they can leave Ferris State out - right?? That would be the biggest slap in the face to the WCHA ever. I've gotta think Ferris State makes it.

Yes, the Sue are 14th in the pairwise. But...there are enough teams outside the Top 16 that are gonna get in with automatic bids that the Sue should be left OUT of the tourney. Let's see what happens. Any chance the Sue get left out, SMF?

twinsfan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/23/2014 1:40:15 AM)

Damn...Wisconsin won. Was hoping OSU would swipe a spot.

That leaves the door open for you know who.[X(][X(][X(]

twinsfan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/23/2014 1:47:01 AM)

Good news. #23 in the pairwise, Denver, won the NCHC tourney. UND at this point is AT BEST #16 in a 16 team field. They really should be #17-#20 and out of the tourney.

twinsfan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/23/2014 1:51:18 AM)

More great news. #44 in the pairwise, Robert Morris, is in the tourney. However, I think any team coming out of the Atlantic Hockey Conference would be outside the Top 16....so maybe it doesn't really matter.

I see no way the Sue have a legitimate claim to get in the tourney.

twinsfan -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (3/23/2014 2:01:23 AM)

I can see it now. UND gets a 4 seed and is matched up with the Gophers in Round 1.

Maybe that's what's best for college hockey in the area. With the breakup of the WCHA, I guess we do need a shot in the arm. Sort of hoping for it, sort of dreading it. More dreading it because I have a very bad idea of how it will go. But if it were to happen, it would bring a lot of excitement that's been missing so far this year.

No kidding drew
Reminds me of some beauty pageant in Kentucky or some pro wrestling feature in New Jersey ...
like they sit at a table and go "umm, lets make sure this matchup happens, or that happens"
They can tell us all they want about numbers, it often surely looks like a rigged event.

Just wanted to comment here how incredibly stupid it was destroying the greatest hockey conference ever the WCHA. My Huskies from SCSU have been turning into a hockey Power and I really hope this doesn't derail them. I loved getting to play four games a year against the hated Rodents of the U of M.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (5/18/2014 10:35:32 AM)

Very Sure. The Rodents are usually a good team and it helps make my Huskies even stronger beating up on them.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Other college hockey (BSU, UND, SCSU, etc) (5/25/2014 8:57:55 AM)

I know man. Just being silly. If you read the Gopher forum, there were a bunch of us lamenting how stupid the B10 conference is. It sucks. We all want the WCHA back to the way it was also.

The B10 has no emotion to it. Going to PSU or OSU is just mind numbingly boring. This season had nothing until the NCAA's kicked in. That sucks. We use to get so geeked up for ND, Wis, SCSU..ect..
