I always felt bad for them. I've never had hatred. I loathe the Bears and Puke but the Lions have been so shitty in our lifetime, it's more pity.

My dislike has grown recently with their coaching decisions and Suh but still.

The Gym Shortz Regime did get my blood boiling a couple times tho

Yep. On all counts. I always liked Moore, Barry, and CJ.

Disliked Moore only because he was CC's only comp at the time. I loved CC until his later years.

Cris Carter remains my favorite player of all time. John Randle/Doleman were probably next. And obviously AD "was" up there. Teddy may rocket up the list very quickly.

He had a whopping 4.5 sacks last year. Wouldn't be a big loss anyway.

How could you live w/o seeing the fisherman's reel??

[X(]

I get angry just thinking about that. The one that killed me was his first sack last season, on second down and he comes back to line winded. 3rd and 15 we gave up 40 yards to his side because he was gassed.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (5/27/2015 12:45:18 PM)

After practice on Wednesday, coach Mike Zimmer bluntly stated the team's stance, which hasn't changed. The Vikings are steadfast in keeping Peterson.

"I'm not worried about it. I've got 89 guys out here I'm trying to coach and get better," Zimmer said. "He's really got two choices: He can play for us or not play. He's not going to play for anybody else and that's just the way it is."

Peterson is under contract for the next three seasons and is due $12.75 million in base salary should he be on the roster Week 1. The first mandatory practice is June 16, starting a three-day minicamp that ends the NFL offseason. Teams can fine players more than $70,000 for missing those three days.

Asked if he knew when Peterson would show up, Zimmer told 1500ESPN last week that he thought he had an 'indication,' but wasn't sure when.

"I don't know when he's coming," Zimmer said. "We'll leave it at that."

Even the revolving door LT is there after scopes on both knees

Peterson

Not a team player. At all.

Sure they'll get sick/tired of the drama. But if he doesn't show? Fine time.

Love how the Vikes are playing this out.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (5/27/2015 2:03:00 PM)

I think it's the Zimmer style. Why let one get his way? We need the whole team to buy in to what Zimmer wants. That builds a winner.

AKA - let him sit. I love it.

Peterson on not attending Vikings' OTA's

As Adrian Peterson told ESPN's Josina Anderson in a statement: "The reason I'm not attending OTA's has nothing to do with wanting to be traded. It's about securing my future with the Vikings. It's business, not personal and I understand that firsthand. Go Vikings."

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (5/27/2015 9:12:14 PM)

Breaking news. Josina Anderson is now pregnant.

Well, certainly his behavior (and play) over the last year or so deserves a raise and/or more guaranteed money than his deal called for. I mean, who could argue that?

Yea, he's got a lot of leverage, great time to demand/expect a better contract. He should shut his mouth, toe the company line, have a fantastic season, then, maybe expect to be rewarded. Until then, shut the F up and be thankful you aren't in prison.

bstinger -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (6/2/2015 7:48:30 AM)

I get his displeasure with how contracts work in NFL vs other sports. I personally wish other sports were more like NFL instead of other way around. There should be a way out of guaranteed contracts IMHO.

Glad to hear he's showing up today. Hopefully he and team can mend fences and have a productive year.

But if there's a way out, what would make them guaranteed?

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (6/2/2015 9:04:04 AM)

Decided to keep it on PA's show for a little bit this morning w/ the Adrian Peterson news. Is this celebration really appropriate? Seems like it's in completely poor taste to get this excited about his return.

djskillz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (6/2/2015 9:10:36 AM)

I can't agree. Now I'm not about to compare it to slave labor like Peterson did. And I certainly don't side with him in terms of him deserving more; he negotiated his contract going in. He knew the parameters.

But I also think the NFL players have gotten the short end of the stick. NFL players' life spans are dramatically shortened by their play with concussions and basically being battering rams for years. So it's kind of crazy that their contract situation is the worst of all teams. The NFL players' union has been very, very weak compared to the other leagues for years.

I guess I should have written that better. Ideally, for all sports, only a portion of the contract is guaranteed. If you get hurt or are no longer effective you shouldn't get full pay, a prorated portion of it should be guaranteed, not full salary.

I think NFL contracts are too harsh probably but other sports with fully guaranteed contracts aren't right either. Somewhere in between is the right mix. Fair to both players and teams.

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (6/2/2015 9:11:59 AM)

Switched to Mackey and Judd to see if they handle this a little better.
