ORIGINAL: djskillz As someone who was very skeptical of him coming in, I am as high as you can be on him now. The kid just has "it". To me the most important things for a QB are: Icewater in your veins. Gotta be able to stand in there and make pressure plays. He has that in spades. Leadership. Ditto. Work ethic and football intelligence. Gotta be able to make adjustments and constantly improve. He improved all throughout the year, both game by game and on individual plays. Accuracy. Also has that in spades. He had a really great rookie year, one of the best ever in the NFL efficiency-wise. Despite absolutely nothing around him; bad OL play, not much for RB's or WR's. And despite being just 21. I hate to compare him to Joe Montana (the best ever IMO) but he has a LOT of the same traits. I still worry about him getting injured here or there, but you could worry about that with any NFL QB. He has all of the intangibles and qualities that you look for in a stud QB in the league today. The qualities above are all there for the best QB's; Brady, Rodgers, Peyton, Luck, Brees... No reason as he continues to mature and grow he can't join that group. The love is well deserved IMO. If anything, he's not getting enough. It's the most excited I've ever been about a Viking QB in my lifetime. And I really believe he can one that can finally take us to the promised land. Good feedback The thought of giving him a Running Back has me excited, as does the thought of giving that RB a Quarterback. The defense under Zim seems as good and young as I can ever remember(started watching full time in '79) I also like the fact that we can offense or Oline if need be in next years draft as most of the defensive positions are at least on paper, in pretty good shape. Could use a Punter though....good problem to have. Yep. Having AD plays right into his strengths. 8 man front against Bridgewater? Good luck with that. More blitzes? Good luck with that. That's where he excels. Agree on the defense; I bet it'll be top 5 in the NFL this year with a chance to be #1 within 1-2 years. Quickly becoming dominant, and still very young. Pair that with a good young QB? No reason we can't be the "next" Seattle. I agree with your assessment of Teddy and also looking forward to seeing him in there with Peterson. Upgrades probably needed on OL and at Safety opposite Smith, unless either Exum or one of the newcomers prove useful. I hated Blanton last year and Sendejo isn't the answer either.
